iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

It clearly says iphone has been plugged in since last full charge. My screenshots clearly don't say that.

It's pretty worrying, when people are so self cantered they don't believe anybodies experience can differ from their own.

It's like those who refuse to believe there are any battery issues. They say mines fine, it must be your fault. And you're the opposite end of the scale, saying yours is crap, so nobody else's can be good.

It's especially annoying when I've agreed and explained that I too have had issues that have caused terrible battery life.

Nope. Never.

An iPhone 5 will never get 8 hours of use, unless you're monkeying with it. You say you aren't, but you are. My phone can last for days simply by turning off cellular data.

Hundreds of pages of iPhone 5 crappy battery life contradict your experience, and what I've observed myself. Impossible. No iPhone 5 connected to data all day and being used, USED, all day will last 8 hours. Never. Only someone paid by Apple to prove their CLAIMED battery life would say that.

Real people's experience is different. Just read the threads on this very forum.

If I were being paid by Apple, I'd hardly have slagged them off over and over on these threads. And actually give up my iphone 5 for 3 months due to the issues I was having.

Please keep in mind, these threads are of course populated by those who are having the issues and it appears a fair few. But most of my friends haven't had any issues with their iphone 5. Neither has my partner. But I had issues from the first week.

If you look at the tests by Engadget or any of the big phone companies, you'll see the iPhone 5 is more than capable of getting 8 hours usage. I've actually had far more, some days I've bad 10 hours usage. Admitadley they were days when I was on wifi only.

I also have had terrible days, where my battery died while in London for the day after 3 hours, which made me want to put it in the bin.

But once the individuals cause of the drain is figured out, the battery is more than capable of lasting 8 hours+.

Anyway it's pretty clear that you're **** bent on calling everybody who's fixed their issues a liar, this is pointless. But please feel free to come back and apologise if you sort yours. Oh and when you realise the S4 will give you 4 hours usage max. And it's battery is far bigger than iPhone 5's. because Android is a power hog.

And BTW, one thing is a website doing a controlled battery drain test and a real world battery life test by regular people using the phone.

iPhone 5 gets 5 hours at most. That's it.

You quote Engadget battery life tests of the iPhone 5 at 8 hours as your source.

Then you say the GS4 only gets 4 hours usage because, according to you say with the phone for 30 minutes?

That's good. Yet you fail to say that, GSMArena did an endurance test with the GS4

There it is. Almost 14 hours 3G talk time.

Somehow; the endurance test of the iPhone is valid, but the one for the GS4 isn't. We are supposed to take your word that you've actually held a GS4 in your hand and are able to quote the battery life on 30 minutes with the phone.

You make a lot of sense.

Have been following this thread for some days and turning off everything suggested. Both mine and my wife's identical iPhone 4's (not 4S's) are losing charge like someone has pulled out the bath plug. Here's an oddity though. We have identical settings and save for the fact that I have a few extra (non-running) apps they are pretty much identical. Last night both phones were charged to 100%. All apps switched off during the night. This morning, my phone is down to 87% charge, my wife's down to 49%!! Having done NOTHING. This is getting silly; we're having to charge our phone twice a day to allow us to make a couple of phone calls and a few texts.

You know what? When my phone is in my pocket, I don't need it to be anything but a phone.

My iPhone 4s under 6.1.2 also heats when I have mobile data on and am not covered by wifi ... and have apps running that might be using data.

However, 95% of the time I really don't need net access when I'm not in a wifi zone, so I keep mobile data off. It'd just be nice if that switch were more accessible.

Guys,

This is very Simple and Basic...

Between the Iphone 5 Battery Drainage Problem and the Very Poor Wifi Reception problem of the Iphone 5 .... what we get?

a complete silence from apple ........................... Completely ignoring this!

and this is very simple... why?

Apple is counting on our very short term memory of this.... Soon iOS 7 / Iphone 6 will be out and we will all forget and run like crazy to buy the next i Device!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is very basic thing from the prespective of crysis business management!!!!!

They just forget that we are the Customers.

so who among us is planning to buy the next i Device?
