iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

If you are getting terrible battery life on iphone best to check signal put phone into field test mode http://osxdaily.com/2012/08/20/field-test-mode-iphone-signal-strength-numbers/ this link might be really helpfull. If you have turned location services, push email & you don't use Siri battery life should last close to a Day. Their are users having some battery drain from their phones this could be down to IPSW when installed. I have been speaking to LV2 support & they have advised not just restoring device but creating a new restore. This is done by uninstalling iTunes reinstalling either on another PC or creating a user account on windows & then redownloading iTunes. IPSW can get corrupt & cause the phone to overheat due to processor being in constant use. This does impact battery & you do see few % going every few minutes. If you have still don't get joy 08000480408 & speak to Apple they can perform a diagnostic on your phone it's sent via email so you will need an account setup in mail & contacts. Hope this helps anyone else seeing this & having same issue. iPhone 5 users try switching off LTE as their is 30 sec delay switching from 4G to 3G/2G so can also use battery switching between signal bands.

So get a Nokia 105. Lasts a month on 1 charge. Get on the Internet when you sit at your computer. Why bother having an iPhone then?

When the phone is in MY pocket, I need push mail working all the time.

The phone gets hot because its crap.

There Samsung phones running BADA OS that cost a 1/3rd of an iPhone and you can have your Facebook and your Email and whatever you want on all the time.

Maybe you should've bought a WAVE III.

I feel your pain.

Join the club.

Anyway. June 14? Is that when they'll announce the new awesome ios 7?

Update it to 7.0 (hopefully 4s will get the update. Who knows right?) and if 7.0 has no issues, next update click "NO and Don't remind me again" and that's it.

If they never fix it, think about what you use the phone for, get a cheaper phone that does what you want (it'll probably be Android). If you don't care about having Apps and want to use the browser for everything, maybe even. windows phone. Nokia makes good phones that are cheap. The problem is Windows.

I see maybe Android in your future.

Phones like the Motorola RAZR Maxx has been praised for a battery life that no phone can match. And it's an Android phone. Don't listen to fanboys who say Android is a battery hog. The longest lasting phone at the moment is an Android phone.

Because Apple is more concerned about stopping Jailbreaks than servicing you right as a customer.

Actually. 6.1.2 was causing issues too for me.

I'd rather go back to 6.0. But. Apple is Apple. You have no freedom. You do as they say. That's why some go Android. They do what they want with their phones.

Maybe some quick toggles. I know that a lot to ask, but can we have what everyone else who doesn't have an iPhone has? Quick toggles, get rid of notifications you want, not all at once? Closing 100 apps ONE AT A TIME? What is this 1995?

And. Install whatever version of the OS you want to. It's MY phone right?

I don't think anyone is saying the iPhone is a bad device (except the iPhone 4. It was terrible). The issue isn't the hardware- it's the software. And Apple being so closed there's nothing you can do about it except wait and hope they fix it.

Facebook is now crashing on iPhone 5 but works fine on 4s.

Seems like we are just going through Apple's learning curve of having to handle more than one mobile device at once.

Apple offered me a brand new iphone 5 when my 4s was out of warranty so that's new device & 12mths warranty. All manufacturers have slight teathing issues with phones Android, Windows, or iOS so Apple will do what they can but people need to call them. Manufacturers will see an issue more if we follow process of calling them rather than posting our concerns all the time.

Has ANYBODY tried ensuring you're signed out of Chrome and have sync turned off in the Chrome settings?

Settings > sign in to chrome > Sync : off

Also disconnect your Google account in the same panel.

Even if Chrome is installed but not your main browser. chrome must be doing something in the background that's causing some kind of crazy sync loop or something.

Please report back, whether it makes a difference or not. For me it's doubled my battery life.

I think that makes that one the… hmmmm … 50th time you've said that? i think we got it. You had an issue with Chrome. You use Chrome. Congrats.

My phone just went from 20% to 16%. I charged. Went from 16% straight to 24%.

I won't restore it because. Well. I'm sick of restoring. I won't reset because I'm sick of that too.

Just like I'm getting sick of listening to your Chrome problem. Who here, other than this guy, actually has Chrome installed?

You're the only person on this thread who isn't here to try and resolve their issues. You're here to bash Apple and nothing more. You've offered no advice, no solutions and simply troll the thread and is and Apple off.

Actually until you'd come along, the thread was just a bunch of iPhone users exchanging ideas. Exactly as it should be. You're making me wonder if you're some dummy Samsung has hired to troll Apple forums. Just like they've been found doing in the past.
