It's funny how many people are stating there is and was NO FaceTime app on the iPhone 5.... Well YOU in fact are the one's that are wrong !After experiencing the same problem (FaceTime app disappearing) I contacted Apple! Here is the Correct Answer: some of the iPhone's did in fact have FaceTime loaded to their phone home screen (in error),but an update/deletion on the user's part to your phone will delete the icon forever.. Either way you will eventually loose the icon and only gain access through "contacts".. Hope this helps!

That just might be, but its is a better answer then telling people that it never existed, when it did! I know what was on my phone and what isn't now... And I'm pretty sure all other customers that had this issue feel the same way! And when I spoke to the Apple Rep there was no unusual silence as if he had never heard of this before, but basically what your trying to say is Apple customer service is a bunch of liars! Huh? Either way problem answered/solved...

Okay.... My point here was not to argue that FaceTime is a (normal)feature of the iPhone home screen, but to inform those that have stated "there is no way it could have been an icon on the phone",that they are incorrect. As I previously stated, yes it was an error, but it was not a claim it was reality that the icon was there. So instead of telling those that post on here looking for an explanation, that it is "impossible because its only on iPad and iPod", try explaining it was an "glitch/error"... I thought this was supposed to be a helpful forum? That is all...

Do you actually have a question? Strange that you created your profile here today and that your "contributions" here so far are posts that berate others for pointing out your error. Fact is your "fact" is no fact at all; just because you say so that Apple "told" you that it is an error is no proof at all. Again, the documented reality is that THERE IS NO FACETIME ICON ON THE IPHONE. Stop splitting hairs.

We cannot do what you want here and help people here by telling them otherwise, because that would be doing them a disservice.

Obviously I need to speak another language for you.... AGAIN my intentions were to answer the original post... Obviously more than one person has had this issue... I didn't create the post! If you take the time to read what I have said, I in fact wasn't the one asking the question, I was answering it! It's funny your on an Apple forum stating that information given by APPLE is incorrect.... Mind boggling! When answering a question on a forum, there are those that will disagree with the answers you have provided..SO WHAT! My life goal is not to answer to you or anyone else's satisfaction... Get over it.. You call it splitting hairs, I call it stating my opinion...I would have had to provide a service in order to provide a disservice, to which my opinion is not! If you don't agree with what I or APPLE has said, shrug and move on....

It isn't mind boggling at all, it has happened before and probably will again. You spoke to a first tier technician reading from a script and when they couldn't get rid of you they came up with some story that would get rid of you. Given your posts here it is pretty easy to see why.

More than one person has "had this issue" because either they came from an iPad or Touch to the iPhone or they just assume (since they hadn't read the manual) that their should be an icon which they could delete. And as far as what the Apple rep supposedly said, if it was an error where a system app from the Touch or iPad was somehow included on an iPhone there would be no way to delete the app.

People also have posted wanting to find the Airprint app, Airplay app, etc.
