I too have the same problem. It's been more than 48 hours since I registered.

After contacting Support, got a mail stating the issue has been resolved. However I never got an activation mail and my account has still not been activated.

Contacted Support once again but have seen no progress.

Never knew Apple support was this bad!!!

Can anyone help here?

This has just happened to me. From the language of the comments I'm guessing that a majority of us are from the UK. Specifically the odd thing about my order that may have flagged them is that I used my UK card and billing address but live in the US and have an American iCloud. It's probably just enough that some poor bugger has to manually check I'm not fradulently creating dev accounts (What possible scam could I be pulling). Anyway it serves me right, I paid in GBP because £60 < $99.

If you read this far please confirm if there's a mismatch between your payment country and residence and/or if you're outside the US.

That's not correct, there's a lag* between them updating prices and actual FX fluctuations. Like most global tech companies Apple chooses to price approximately based on estimated exchange rates and consumer friendly pricing. This works well in some cases and badly in others. Taking the app store for example - a .99 USD app is .69 GBP in the UK app store, currently that's 1.10 USD. If the FX rate changes intraday (Or even intra-year) Apple does not change the price of apps. Similarly Spotify is $9.99 in the US and £9.99 in the UK but I can use both globally so I pay in the US.

* it's actually not even a lag, it's a conscious price difference.

Anyway this is off topic, are you experiencing the same problem and are you a resident of one country paying in another? It's just a theory but I imagine that's why we're flagged for further verification.

I waited a long time (month and a half) and only got it fixed when I called the support, they re-sent the validation and it finally worked.
I'm from Canada and was pretty ****** off that they didn't have e-mail support, it could have been so simple...

I speak french and they don't have support in french, twice I called and something was wrong on their end. The first time they couldn't transfer me because they said the line was occupied. The next day I called again and after a few transfers the guy couldn't hear me, I had to shout at the phone for him to barely hear me.

All that in a language i'm not comfortable speaking and obviously isn't helping them helping me.

Fortunately, the third time I called it worked and they fixed it.

The worst part is, the money was taken from my account and if I had not called or couldn't speak english, I would never have received the product I paid for.
