Same here--disputing fraudulent charges disabled my apple-ID. Thank goodness I found this forum right away, or else I would've been totally frustrated! The Apple support rep and I had to wait 52 minutes for apple security to finally enable my ID (wait time is usually only 15 minutes) so don't call them on a Saturday! ;) THANKS ^^

Thanks rnicks, this is exactly what I needed to do. I also had two disputed charges so I subsequently changed my password (and added two step verification) and when I went to use appletv the next day, it said my account was disabled. I called 1-800-275-2273, chose "more info" because I wasn't going to pay for the one time apple support, and they quickly transferred me to iTunes support. Once you've been sent to iTunes support, be sure to be by your computer or have a device handy because they'll send you to appleid.apple.com and you'll sign in to obtain a temporary PIN to give the operator. After you give them that PIN the operator will enable the account. Total call time for me was 13 minutes on a Saturday morning. And my appletv worked immediately after the call.

I had my credit card company disputed some itunes charges a few weeks ago. I found that my apple id got disabled after that. From a hindsight I think it is reasonable for Apple to disable my ID to protect against further fraudulent activities. I agree that it's been a frustrating experience to try to find an answer online by yourself, especially when you want to get something done quickly, such as transferring some apps to a new ipad. Anyway, today I reached out to Apple and got it resolved within 15 minutes. Here is what I did and hope it would help those in similar situation.

1. From a browser (I used my xp pc), go to https://getsupport.apple.com

2. Click See all products and services

3. Click the huge Itunes icon

4. Click Itunes Store

5. Click Account Management

6. Click Apple ID acocunt Security (on the left hand side)

7. Type the message your apple id has been disabled

8. Click Continue

9. Select United States (there is also Canada and Others)

10. When you see How would you like to get help? Choose a support option for your topic.

Click Talk to Apple Support Now

11. Enter pone number and apple id and click Continue

12 When you see the following messages on screen, click it

Talk to Apple Support Now

Provide your phone number and Apple Support will call you now.

Wait time: 2 minutes or less

After I clicked I got a call immediately from Apple Support from 18002752273 - I am not sure if you are supposed to call this number directly though.

I answered 3 security questions and the operator submitted a ticket to the Itunes Support or Itunes Security department. After a few minutes she came back to tell me that it was fixed. All the frustration is gone.

Happy Holidays.

Thank you so much for typing this step-by-step. Apple personnel were great to me & re-abled my Apple ID. I had paid for an in-app purchase via PayPal from my phone on 12/24/13 & never recv'd the game item. Game Support later emailed that there would be a delay due to the Holiday & they needed acopy of my Apple receipt. Nothing was resolved by the 2nd week of Jan so I opened a PayPal dispute. The last week of Jan I received the in-game item & an apologetic email from game support. Today I got an email from PayPal that they had processed a refund & closed the dispute. I saw the account was disabled when I tried to update my apps so you saved me a lot of time I would have wasted trying to reverse the refund to inable my ID.

I encountered same problem today "Apple ID account disabled" and I fixed it in a few minutes.

If signing in and out of your account, turning on and off your iphone, resetting password, connecting it to itunes and etc. doesn't work 😟

Here's the step how to fix, check your apple customer service number http://support.apple.com/kb/he57 here you can find your country's Apple Customer Service and talk to Account Service Team and say how to enable the Apple ID Account.

Apple Account Service Team will assist you quickly and they will able to "enable your account" in a minute even if you had some problem in your bank credit account or etc. just make sure you're the owner and can answer all their question to verify your account. Do it now! 🙂
