I JUST, 9 July 13, bought Logic Pro... Any change Apple will allow for some type of upgrade to Pro X, since we had NO Fore Knowledge of its release...

To all above,

There is another possible reason.. that is just a personal opinion based on my own observations...

That is.. if Apple allowed refunds for LPX/LP9 then they would be setting a preceedent that would force them to have to allow refunds for every other App... and think about that would be handled once the Dev had been paid....and how those monies already paid out by Apple, could be retrieved.. and how such a 'refund' policy could so easily be abused by the less "savory' Devs out there! Im sure Apple could work out a system to prevent such abuse but that would probably revolve around delaying intial payments to Devs until such time as all refunds were handled/processed and you know the Devs wouldn't care for that at all!!

Thankfully, Apple's policies have led to many of the 'bad' Devs leaving the IOS platform and going over to the Dark... errr.. Android side... but even so, there are always a few of them still around (and of course.. attracting others back..) to jump on any way to make an extra buck....

You do not know this to be a fact.. You are simply guessing...

You must wait and see if any further updates to LP9 come out or not before you could claim that.

I don't know either way but based on past behavior from Apple, (Think updates to previous OS X's..) it is quite possible there will be further dev work done and updates released for LP9. I don't expect any new feature additions to be made to LP9 however... but maintenence updates, yes.

Example: When Mavericks is released and if LP9 needs any updates to ensure compatibility, I would expect Apple to release them. Time will tell if i am right or not.

HI Pancenter,

As an aside..... the bit of the conversation with my 'old friend' that struck me most.. was the lack of the normal advance notice he got as to LPX's release date. I find that 'really odd'.... and it makes me wonder why that would have been so? Any thoughts?

Unless they wanted to get it out before the 4 year anniversary release date of Logic 9, July 23rd 2009. Even then they could've given a few days notice.. Him, isn't a Tuesday often the release for Apple software, had they waited a week the next Tuesday would've been July 23rd 2013.

Umm.. I hadn't considered that....and yes, Apple tend to try and release products to specific date patterns for sure.. Much like the typical release dates for new IOS devices... which tend to be within only two time periods a year normally..
