My iphone won't connect to itunes or my computer!

For some reason when I updated to the new itunes my iphone 4 stopped connecting to my computer and itunes. I have tried restarting my computer and my iphone but nothing is working. I have tried plugging in different plugs thinking something with the cord but nothing! But when I try to connect my iphone my computer makes the sound as if it is connected but my phone is not in my computer and my iphone shows its not connected

So i checked all the comments and the comment of ahahmed, and when in the device manager, i discovered that my device does not have the Driver to connect to any PC. I figured this out plugging in another device with that driver and when attempting to uninstall it, it said if i was sure "to delete the driver for this device" (AKA the iphone).

So somehow the driver inside the iphone got deleted meaning when i connect my device my pc and iphone does not register that it's connected.

Yes, i did use the same USB Port and Charging cable for both Idevices and the second device did open itunes.

Does someone know where to install this driver?

So I know this is three years late, but for anyone reading this now: updating the driver never worked for me. I have Windows 7, so I hit start and searched, "Autoplay."* I switched the settings for my iPhone, photos, and videos to "Open folder to use files using Window Explorer." (It had been set to Dropbox before).

My iPhone finally showed up under "Computer" so I can manually move my photos onto my PC. I hope this at least helps some of you!

*you can also find autoplay on windows 7 if you go to start>control panel>hardware and sounds>autoplay
