App Store updates blank

I have a red "1" on my App Store app, telling me one of my apps needs to be updated. But when I go to the updates it won't show anything, it's just blank. Everything else in the App Store works but I can't see the updates.any suggestions?

Through trial and error, I figured out the steps below provide a workaround that just began working for my and my wife's iPad only today. Just logging in and out of iTunes (steps 1-4) or just going through Purchased (steps 5-7) didn't work by themselves. It required logging out, logging in, shutting down, then going to Purchased.

1. Log out of Settings>iTunes and AppStore

2. Log back in.

3. Shut down iPad (home + sleep button).

4. Start iPad.

5. Go to App Store, then Purchased.

6. Go through each letter of the alphabet and update those apps one by one showing Update. (Before today, I wasn't seeing the Update. It requires following steps #1 thru #4 first.)

7. Close out of App Store. At this point, I saw the red # disappear on the App Store icon. Blank page is still there when opening App Store>Updates, but at least the annoying red dot is gone.

What software update are you referring to?

Is it too much to ask apple to do a better job of testing before rolling it out.

Absoutely not. It's not too much to ask. However you seem to fail to realize that technology is not perfect, and failures and bugs can happen at any time.

This kind of crap happens all too frequently lately

Do you have any concept on how big of an operation Apple is running these days. I think you should be pretty happy with their services, since many of them are free. A glitch here and there in a huge multi-national enterprise environment is not uncommon.

I've had apple products since the very first iPhone. I am expressing my frustration along with a lot of other people in these forums at a severe decline in quality at apple.

The fact that you got so angry over something as trivial as a site for iPad software updates, instead of enjoying your weekend makes me feels sorry for you. It really does.

And for the record it appears the problem got solved today after enough people complained. So guess it was a simple fix after all.

The simple fact that it's been going on for a few days is probably indicitive of a fix that's not so simple. So..For the third time I ask you..Prove it was a simple fix, since it's still not working for me and many of our 600 iPad users. Again... you can't.

With that said, I hope you can come to terms with this little glitch and realize that the sky is not falling, and it's not the end of the world, so please...go enjoy what's left of your weekend. Respond if you want, it won't matter, as the few minutes of my life I've wasted typing this is more than enough for me to want to browse this thread again.

This issue very well may not be a simple fix. Is it too much to ask Apple to release some type of statement around the issue to save people time and frustration? This seems to be affecting quite a few and if it is an Apple issue it would be nice to know from the source to avoid trying all of these potential fixes that haven't worked. I almost did a restore and that would have been inconvenient. Simple or not there should be better communication to maintain positive user experiences.
