My music won't sync to my iPhone 4S after updating to 11.1

I just updated my iTunes to 11.1

Everything seems to be working out fine but when I sync music it gets to about 5/6 songs and then cancels the sync.

any suggestions?

Are people still having this problem? I have the latest iTunes on a Macbook and I have an iPhone 4s. Until recently I have had my entire music library on my phone, but today I plugged my phone into my computer and I lost everything, nothing shows up on my phone and it doesn't matter how many different ways I try to sync the music to my iPhone nothing comes up. I have tried all of the fixes people have suggested and am still completely out of luck. Only my purchased music will show on my phone all albums synced to my iTunes library from discs etc will not, but when I click on my iPhone within iTunes and then click to music it shows everything from my library as being there (even though I can't actually see it on my phone!) I'm confused and frustrated. Has anybody got any original ideas as to how to fix this?

Thanks to all in this discussion!! This appears to be working (deleted the music on the phone as per hellobela's suggestion). I have an iPhone 4 and I've spent many hours over the last few weeks trying to get my music to sync. I noticed the issue after the last IOS upgrade. It's only syncing 2300 of the 2700 songs I wanted but its a step in the right direction. I am wondering if the other person who said there were some problem albums causing the issue was also on to something...as was the person who suggested creating a new library. If I find out anything else I will share as this was a royal pain in the rear end and a waste of precious time.

I've had similar issues and after days of frustration tonight I decided to backup and restore my phone (something I was trying to avoid) when I did this the 'radio' feature which was supposed to have been introduced with iOS7 (which my 4S never actually got) appeared in the music app on the bottom left tool bar next to podcasts. My guess is there is a fault in the latest iOS version within the music app which is causing this issue for so many people!! After I had backed up and restored I followed the steps below and what do you know problem solved my music syncs to my phone now like no problem ever existed. Definitely try this I think restoring the phone creates a fix for the app!

NOTE: This will take some time depending on how many songs you have.

Remove all the songs from your phone and then re-sync them back on.

1-simply plug phone into itunes on your computer

2-click where your iphone shows up in itunes

3-click the music tab at the top

4-UNCHECK the box beside sync music and when the prompt asks click REMOVE

*this will remove all the music off of your phone so make sure all your music is in itunes on the computer!*

5-Sync your phone

6- after the sync is finished follow steps 1-3 again and re-click the "Sync Music" box

7- now sync your iphone again and it should all be back to normal

i had the same problem, so going on an adventure to figure this out is what i did. Everyone elses comments didnt work for me what-so-ever. So hopefully this helps somebody.

start of by plugging in you iphone to your computer.

once your computer recognizes your ipod or iphone, go to the summary.

now go over 3 tabs to find music.

click on it

check the box that says "sync music"

from there you can mannually choose what you want to sync or you can just sync the entire library.

Hope this helps! :-)

I recently bought an iPod touch 32GB, and ever since then i've hated it. I've tried literally everything, scoured almost all the forums that have displayed this problem, i've tried;

Reinstalling itunes

recreating my library

manually syncing

desyncing, resyncing

cold reboots

countless restores

I'm running ios 7.0.4, Windows 7, and itunes 11.1.3

This is ridiculous i spent so much money for a brick. iTunes needs to fix this.

If anyone can suggest anything else i can try it'd be much appreciated. Hopefully itunes 11.1.4 rolls out soon.

I (my wife's phone) was on a same boat until 5 minutes ago, when Sync is clicked on respective tab says synched but music never synched up. Finally selecting this worked for me.

On iTunes, goto "Summary" where you see your phone name capacity etc, scroll down where you see "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC" check that option and then synch your music. That worked for me, also noticed that on some 4S phones, after selecting this option and synching up, upgradting to 7 worked. Hope Apple fix this issue permanently. Good luck,

Thank god, atleast am still using Galaxy S4 its gem sofar.

I refused to restore my phone. I didn't want to start over with my phone. I liked everything the way it was.

thank you everyone that posted.

I turned off wifi and find my phone and put my phone into airplane mode. turned it off then back on connected my phone to my computer and my music synced on my phone with no problems.

I'm a happy person now. i was ready to throw my phone out the window. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HELP OTHERS.

This was the only thing that worked for me after several attempts, hopefully it helps you too. I clicked the sync check mark so that it unsynced all the music off my phone, and then tried to resync certain playlists, but not all my music. It worked for me when I synced a couple smaller playlists, but you should also try just resyncing your entire library again too to see if that works. You'll know it's working when you can actually see it show that it's syncing every song one by one. Good luck, and thanks no thanks Apple for this fantastic update.

Ok. Add me to the list. Had to reset my phone (5S) yesterday because it didn't like having two Google linked email accounts. After the reset, my purchased music showed up, but nothing else. After an hour of frustration, I found this thread. Turned off iCloud back up and find my phone. Set the phone to airplane mode. On summary page in iTunes, checked the synch only checked songs and videos box. Then on the music page, unchecked the box to synch music. Went to the music library page and made sure all songs were unchecked. Back on the summary page for the phone, clicked the "sync" button to remove all music. Went back to the music library and checked the songs I wanted. Went to the phone page and the music tab and checked sync music at the top and the selected playlists, artists, etc radio button and the playlists that I wanted to sync. Then checked the sync button again. Voilà! the music appeared. What a kludge.

Had to reset my iPad 4 for the same mail issue. It synched first time no problem. Go figure.
