My music won't sync to my iPhone 4S after updating to 11.1

I just updated my iTunes to 11.1

Everything seems to be working out fine but when I sync music it gets to about 5/6 songs and then cancels the sync.

any suggestions?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7

I would try restarting both the computer and the iPhone. Then try to sync again.

If that doesnt fix it, I would try recreating the itunes library with this:

having issues putting music on my Iphone 4 after downloading Itunes 11.1

when i plug in my iphone tp my laptop and attempt to sync my music:

  1. i go from "Backing Up"
  2. to "determining tracks for sync" briefly
  3. to "copying diagnostic information" also appearing briefly before it shows
  4. "waiting for changes to be applied".

with the end result being no changes applied (IE my music im attempting to put on)

ive tried turning off my passcode, different cords, usb ports on my laptop, with absolutely no luck

I recently bought an iPod touch 32GB, and ever since then i've hated it. I've tried literally everything, scoured almost all the forums that have displayed this problem, i've tried;

Reinstalling itunes

recreating my library

manually syncing

desyncing, resyncing

cold reboots

countless restores

I'm running ios 7.0.4, Windows 7, and itunes 11.1.3

This is ridiculous i spent so much money for a brick. iTunes needs to fix this.

If anyone can suggest anything else i can try it'd be much appreciated. Hopefully itunes 11.1.4 rolls out soon.

I (my wife's phone) was on a same boat until 5 minutes ago, when Sync is clicked on respective tab says synched but music never synched up. Finally selecting this worked for me.

On iTunes, goto "Summary" where you see your phone name capacity etc, scroll down where you see "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC" check that option and then synch your music. That worked for me, also noticed that on some 4S phones, after selecting this option and synching up, upgradting to 7 worked. Hope Apple fix this issue permanently. Good luck,

Thank god, atleast am still using Galaxy S4 its gem sofar.

I refused to restore my phone. I didn't want to start over with my phone. I liked everything the way it was.

thank you everyone that posted.

I turned off wifi and find my phone and put my phone into airplane mode. turned it off then back on connected my phone to my computer and my music synced on my phone with no problems.

I'm a happy person now. i was ready to throw my phone out the window. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HELP OTHERS.

This was the only thing that worked for me after several attempts, hopefully it helps you too. I clicked the sync check mark so that it unsynced all the music off my phone, and then tried to resync certain playlists, but not all my music. It worked for me when I synced a couple smaller playlists, but you should also try just resyncing your entire library again too to see if that works. You'll know it's working when you can actually see it show that it's syncing every song one by one. Good luck, and thanks no thanks Apple for this fantastic update.

Ok. Add me to the list. Had to reset my phone (5S) yesterday because it didn't like having two Google linked email accounts. After the reset, my purchased music showed up, but nothing else. After an hour of frustration, I found this thread. Turned off iCloud back up and find my phone. Set the phone to airplane mode. On summary page in iTunes, checked the synch only checked songs and videos box. Then on the music page, unchecked the box to synch music. Went to the music library page and made sure all songs were unchecked. Back on the summary page for the phone, clicked the "sync" button to remove all music. Went back to the music library and checked the songs I wanted. Went to the phone page and the music tab and checked sync music at the top and the selected playlists, artists, etc radio button and the playlists that I wanted to sync. Then checked the sync button again. Voilà! the music appeared. What a kludge.

Had to reset my iPad 4 for the same mail issue. It synched first time no problem. Go figure.

What fixed it for me:

  1. On your computer, open iTunes > My iPhone (or whatever name you gave your iPhone) > "Music" page
  2. Uncheck "Sync Music"
  3. Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
  4. Let it run and finish
  5. Uncheck the box for every song, playlist, etc.
  6. Click "Sync" button (bottom right) (This step may be unnecessary, but I did it and got the result I wanted.)
  7. Let it run and finish
  8. Check the boxes for the music you want on your iPhone
  9. Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
  10. Let it run and finish

See if that doesn't work for you. I tried a lot of things that did nothing, but this seems to have fixed it, and quickly.
