IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

After update, wallpaper stretchs larger than image. Unable to resize smaller to fit screen. My photo only measures 24k @ 261x231 and is HUGE; bigger than the screen can accommodatem (shrink). Cannot resize smaller to fit screen. Any ideas/suggestions? I have tried resizing my photo (smaller crop in size and dimensions) and photos render too large for screen. Cannot resize smaller to fit. I know I am repeating myself. Just to be clear. Am I doing something incorrectly in IOS 7? Any ideas/suggestions or similar problems solving input would be appreciated.

No true Apple user cares about work arounds. We are talking here about errors in Apple programming that has been there simce the release of iOS 7.0, years ago.

This is about the disconnect at Apple with their own programming.

OK, I understand what you are saying. If it would help you get an image that looks perfect, you could link me to an image you would like for a wallpaper an I will edit it using my method shown on page 6 and post a link to the edited image for you to use. The offer is there to anyone who wants it, but I will only do it for the first couple of people who link an image. I would also need to know what devices you want the image for and will need to be a decent res.

Again I really appreciate the offer of help Edward but the fact that you are having to go to these lengths to fix something that worked fine before Wednesday, simply serves to prove the point that this needs fixing.

Not by you, not by workaround, not by app(If I was the developer of the suggested app, I would now be charging for it £££££££££), it needs fixing by apple.

Yes, that does explain it. But it doesn't make it less annoying. I have the silly parallax effect off, and it doesn't work. I had a really nice picture of my son and dog as my lock screen wallpaper, and now it doesn't work. The phrase used to describe Apple products as "they just work" isn't working.

I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to fix something that was working before on my iPad mini.

This isn't the worst thing Apple's ever done, nor the worse thing for the iOS, but it's especially annoying because it's the FIRST THING I see when I open my mini!

It should have been simple: if there was a previously used image as a wallpaper, leave it alone. 7 should have just been programmed to leave 6's wallpaper alone.

It doesn't.

What an unbelieveable mess! Trying to change my wallpaper because the ios7 colour screen makes the current one look horrible only to find that the 'move and scale' doesn't work to resize the image. As soon as I release my fingers to click 'use as homescreen' the screen zooms in again so the image gets cropped all around the edges!

Horrible, and amateur to release such rubbish!

Thank you Hirosue and kfc1869!
I agree with you both 100%!

I don't want a "work around", I want to go in and size my photos the way I always did.

Apple shouldn't release an update without first warning us of the changes that will occure with that update.

Yes, they give a list of updates and make it all sound so exciting and wonderful, but without us having tried it first, there is no way to know if we're going to like it.

Additionally, I can't stand the brightness on my screen either, it hurts my eyes now.
I didn't see any mention from Apple that if you have difficulty with bright lights you might want to avoid this update!!!

Now, it's almost a chore to use my iPhone and iPad. That's not fair, and I'm stuck with it??

I truly believe there should be a way to revert back if you don't like the changes that are taking place.

Come on Apple, you have cheapend the looks of our once classy iPhones!

I agree!! A quick note about the brightness issue...you can change that by pulling up the bottom of the screen - it's new feature and kind of cool. Some of the changes aren't bad but the wallpaper fiasco is the worst! I'd rather have THAT working and forget about all the other 'perks' that were added with the new upgrade.

Good edwardfrombradford. This is a BUG. A picture with larger dimensions than the screen should be able to be displayed in close proximity to the edge of the screen. A landscape picture should not be zoomed in when in landscape mode. They need to make it work. Know-it-alls like you are the reason the PC world is such a mess. I am waiting for this discussion to show up in the next Samsung commercial. "It works just like they intended. You just have to buy an editing app to reduce the size of your picture to a postage stamp and then it will fit."

Edward, don't get so frustrated. You didn't cause this and you shouldn't have to fix it.

What we're saying is WE want to do what WE could do yesterday, with our own iPhone/iPads, and that is resize our own pictures.

I'm a visual learner, maybe a picture diagram of what you're saying would help me.

I want to do it myself and clearly I'm not as savy as you are in this field.
