IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

After update, wallpaper stretchs larger than image. Unable to resize smaller to fit screen. My photo only measures 24k @ 261x231 and is HUGE; bigger than the screen can accommodatem (shrink). Cannot resize smaller to fit screen. Any ideas/suggestions? I have tried resizing my photo (smaller crop in size and dimensions) and photos render too large for screen. Cannot resize smaller to fit. I know I am repeating myself. Just to be clear. Am I doing something incorrectly in IOS 7? Any ideas/suggestions or similar problems solving input would be appreciated.

I'm a genius; I figured it out! I opened my original photo with lettering in photoshop, downsized it and then went to Image Canvas Size and added space around the now downsized photo to bring it up to the original size. So now I've added it as wallpaper to the lock screen. Now if I forget my device, an honest person can spot my face in the room, or call my cell phone or email. Worked both on Ipad and Ipod touch, ios7.3

Wow, so now you have to be a Genius to use an IPad? Apple rose to the top by focusing on making their devices easy to use. Let's all watch while they go down hill making their software hard to use.

This is a bug!

I'm guessing no one at apple is actually reading this thread. Or someone thinks keeping it simple is no longer important. Or politics have taken over. Too bad.

I'll go back to hoping apple can get back to there roots, when I see this bug get fix.

Well ... they deleted my earlier comment because of the use of a mild obscenity so they DO read these comments but the reason they haven't commented here is probably because they can't be bothered to fix what is clearly a bug.

In this case, not something obscure that only comes to light as end-users start using it, but something that would have been staring them in the face when the new release was still in test/beta.

Even IF people liked the parallax thing (and I hate it) - when you leave it on, the wallaper image is zoomed in so much that all you end up seeing is about 15% of that image - how can that possibly be the intended functionality?

It's a completely absurd situation!

The issue with wallpapers not resizing seems to be worse on iPads than iPhones

I have found 2 fixes for the wallpaper debarcle with IOS 7 for my iPad Mini used in landscape mode

Both fixes however require wallpapers to be initially sized at the screen resolution of my device ie 1024 x 768 pixels

1. Insta Fix from the Apple App store. Quick very simple to use and free

2. In Photoshop resize a 1024 x 768 pixel picture using the canvas size tool to create a picture with a black border an extra 200 pixels on both sides ie 1224 x 968 pixels

Apps that I have tried that didn't work to correct the wallpaper problem have been Wallax, Moldiv collage photo editor and Insta Fix Pro

I hope Apple reads the avalanche of feedback on these forums and does something soon to correct this and other issues

The frosted opaque dock bar at the bottom of the home screen for instance needs to go so we can all see our wallpapers without ugly and unnecessary obstruction

Apple designers - what were you thinking - Please start listening to your customers otherwise you will lose them

Please fix this, Apple! In the past I greatly enjoyed as wallpapers the high res pics I so carefully selected from iStock.com. Pictures that represented the season of the year and holidays! Now my Apple devices zoom in and lose most of these beautiful pics and I an annoyed that such a simple joy can be overridden in such a (seemingly?) cavalier manner. Hear our cries and do something about it. If you are working on it, please say something!

It's truly remarkable ... each new release just makes things worse! It's like the creeping death, I updated to 7.0.4 - didn't fix the problem on the ipad 3, not only that but I swear it actually zoomed in a little bit more on my wallpaper.

Things are getting seriously bad when changing wallpapers is fraught with danger and people start to fear what each new version will mess up next! It's like all the smart people who used to work at Apple have suddenly all changed careers!

What they need to do is completely disable/backout the Parallax thing, put it back into test and leave it off until it has been proven to work WITHOUT messing up other basic functionality!

It's a 6 step process.

1) Select the Picture in Photos

2) Rotate ipad 90 degrees and take screen shot (creating huge black boarder on sides)

3) Select the screen shot you just took

4) Rotate ipad 90 degrees and take screen shot (creating a huge black boarder on top and sides of screen)

5) Select Most Recent Screen Shot

6) Enlarge picture to the size you want (system seems to enlarge fine, just not shrink).

The picture quality appears fine.
