IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

After update, wallpaper stretchs larger than image. Unable to resize smaller to fit screen. My photo only measures 24k @ 261x231 and is HUGE; bigger than the screen can accommodatem (shrink). Cannot resize smaller to fit screen. Any ideas/suggestions? I have tried resizing my photo (smaller crop in size and dimensions) and photos render too large for screen. Cannot resize smaller to fit. I know I am repeating myself. Just to be clear. Am I doing something incorrectly in IOS 7? Any ideas/suggestions or similar problems solving input would be appreciated.

Wait for an update bud. It is technology, and things do happen. There's a lot bigger issues to pursue for Apple i'm sure than setting a selfie as your wallpaper.

There are work arounds for this that DO fix it until a legit fix is out.

So you decide to go back to some other phone, I wish you even more luck with that. iPhone is far more superior than any other device out there, I know this from trial and error.

I agree! And I called them and spoke to customer service. I wanted to go back to ios6 , but they said I couldn't. After this iOS update, Apple has lost its shine for me. Not enough choices, they are making them for me and I do not like them! I am so glad I did not update my other 3 apple devices. I guess I won't be switching my Galaxy SIII to an iPhone as I had planned to do. Oh, and by the way, I like my icons to LOOK LIKE WHAT THEY ACTUALLY ARE!!! seriously, I can't even make a wallpaper out of my photo? How difficult is that to program? Come on, Apple, get it together and start listening to your consumers!!

WendyOB, you're absolutely right. We shouldn't have to fix this. It worked flawlessly before, and it doesn't work now. Apple should fix this. The latest ios fix didn't include a fix for this. The workarounds that people are suggesting (rotate your iphone, take a screen shot, rotate it again, re-size from there) are annoying at best. And we shouldn't have to buy an app to resize a photo for wallpaper imaging...ESPECIALLY a photo we take on our iphones...! That's insane. But...I've said this before and I will say it again: complaining in here only goes so far. Take a minute ot two and report it directly to Apple:

Maybe, just maybe...eventually, it will get addressed.

well, well, I posted on page 20 or so (dont recall). I was gonna give Apple a few wks to fix this and I actually waited a lot more. 40pages now and nothing???

@ dichass, u have no idea how many emails, calls and reports I submitted, they just didnt care.

So, I"m happy to report that I finally got rid of all my apple devices. That's right apple, I told you it was all about customer care, listening to us and you ignored us.

So, I sold my 2 macs, my ipad retina, and my iphone 4s. That was the best decision ever. Btw apple, I'm loving my new samsung galaxy note 3, oh boy, u guys were left behind big time and I doubt you will ever catch up

Needless to say lots of friends and family members also switched to the obvious better options we have nowadays.

so long apple

iOS 7.0.4 does NOT allow you to resize a picture for the lock screen. Not to be negative but EVERYONE looks at this every time they use their iPad or iPhone, how could apple miss this? Knucklehead moves like this and Maps make me actually consider Android for the first time. Not being able to resize a picture on the lock screen and the iOS being at 7.0.4. is ridiculous and shows that Apple has lost its attention to a detail that literally STARES at them every single day.

Come on guys I know you are better than this, or at least you used to be.

Nov 17, 2013 4:28 PM in response to AJF1973

AJF1973, you're right. Apple CAN do better than this. And if you looked closely, there are 40 pages of comments in this thread of people that agree with you. Including me. But take a second and REPORT THIS TO APPLE. Moaning about this issue in here doesn't do any good. But if enough people complain directly to apple, it might snap them into attention.

I reported it to Apple using the same text in my post here.

I honestly cannot believe how far Apple's attention to detail has fallen. I don't believe that the maps disaster would have happened if Steve Jobs was still alive and to have 3 patches on ios 7 now and not have something so BIG and GLARING fixed for users shows that Apple has completely lost touch with quality control or listening to its customers.

My father just bought his first smart phone and I told him to get an Android, which he did, and my next phone will be Android too.

Apple has lost touch with what got them to the top of the mountain.

Not fixing the ability to size pictures on the lock screen after 3 patches is either a symptom of complete arrogance or utter incompetence.

Ha, I tried replying to this thread to help the original poster understand that this is a bug, and Apple shot down my post by calling it a "rant". Thanks Apple. Yes, unfortunately this basic functionality cannot be performed in iOS7. Hopefully Apple will create a solution now that we are four updates into iOS7 with nothing. I sincerely hope this post is PC enough for Apple to allow it to be read...

For everyone with an iPad, I have the solution. So go to the camera roll and go to the picture that you want. Take a screenshot, go to the screenshot, change the orientation (vertical or horizontal) of the iPad, take a screenshot of that, and keep going to the new image and flipping your iPad until the picture is small enough. Then, when applying the background, it is possible to zoom in and move the picture.

Please reply if anyone has a question. I will be watching this for at least a week to respond.
