Anyone else having battery issues since updating to iOS 7?

After updating my iPhone 4S to iOS7, I noticed a horrible drain on my battery! From 100% to 62% in less than two hours... I have tried shutting off Bluetooth and even disabling refreshing background apps, and have my screen brightness set at less than 45% but it is still draining fast... Is anyone else having this problem and does anyone have any idea why?

I really do not know where the 47 minutes came from as I know I have not used it for that much time today. As far as what is turned off I have left most things on as it seems kinda stupid to have a phone that does not let you use what it is made for in my opion. I did look at a link that was provided in a messsge above to read how to extend the battery.

IPad 4 going from 100% to 18% overnight in sleep mode. Ios6 wouldn't use 5% in that time. Have tried shutting off everything like app background and location services. No better. I agree that it is due to the software battery mangement as no matter how long I'm in standby or using the ipad it says the exact same amount of time in the settings usage and usually an amount of time not even close to how long I have used the ipad.Unexceptable.

Same issue here... upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 now my battery only last 2 hours! Within an hour of use the battery goes 50% and from there is downhill! Before with iOS 6 I could go a full day with no issues. I turned off a lot of location services. I keep open only the app I'm using and still no luck. Also, turned off the Parallax effect too. Still nothing. Same issue. Battery not lasting at all!!! Not a happy camper...

Update to my earlier post- Battery life seems to be improving with usage, have no idea how though. from 4 hrs to 7 hrs for full charge next day. Now only 10% down after over an hour of browsing. i also brought back location services and bg app refresh just to check. Think running the device all the way down to zero and fully charging it helped.

Here's how I fixed mine:

Go to Settings - General - Backgroup App Refresh - Turn it off. First, it uses data in the background and 2 it keeps the apps running regradless.

Then Go back to Settings - Privacy - Location Services - Scroll all the way down and select System Services - Disable Everything but Cell Network search, Traffic (if you use it as a GPS) and Wifi Networking.

Let me know how this goes.

Chisss - you can actually disable every single thing under System services. Nothing there has any impact at all on how your device actually functions - those are all various data collection features that send data to Apple for product testing, development and marketing research. I've not had any of the location based system services running since iOS 6 first came out - you simply do not need them if you do not wish to participate in those data collection schemes. Turn them all off and your device will happily continue to function exactly as it shoule.

People might also want to consider turning off the "popular near me" service, which also uses location services frequently. Also location based iADs - anything that is frequently checking your location to actively track where you are will drain the battery faster.

Just to add to the list, my iPhone 5 battery life is unbelievably bad since upgrading to IOS 7

Last week I forgot to charge it overnight and it lasted until 5PM the following day. That's over 30 hours without a charge.

Now I am on IOS 7 it's terrible. I was down to 58% after 4 hours standby and about 40 minutes usage. After about 20 minutes it had dropped to 30%.

When I unlocked it at 30% I opened the mail app and then searched in safari for "IOS 7 battery drain" and it dropped from 30% to 19% in less than 3 minutes. I can sit and watch it drop.

I truly am fuming at this. It has been in beta for months yet they have managed to mess it up!! People able to get past the lock and the battery life.

I will be going to the Apple store and demanding a replacement phone as this is just not good enough. I cannot use it now because as soon as I do, it drains the battery and when it comes to a point of me actually needing to use it as opposed to playing, it will have no battery life on it.
