iOS 7 and Audiobook Chapters

Trying to find where there's an audiobook setting in iCloud settings?

In iCloud settings, after activating "Documents and Data". You'll find the Audiobooks player logo listed underneath.

I use Audials too to convert WMA library books to mp3, then iTunes to make AAC files, then Chapter and Verse to build a single file with chapters that I no longer can use properly on my iPhone.

Wish I had read about this before updating. I, too, and listening to 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' and on the 5th book. The first 4 were easy to access and navigate. It's a complex series and often have to go back and go over a passage or find my place: i.e. on the airplane, turned off and and when turned back on, no longer have the place marker. What was wrong with the 'now playing' marker? APPLE, PLEASE RESTORE THESE FEATURES.

I must be missing something. On my iPhone>settings>iCloud>Documents and Data turned on, no Audiobooks setting here. Are you talking about iCloud settings somewhere else? I can't recall ever seeing Audiobooks as part of this list.

I‘ve used it the feedback form, although I felt rather puzzled by the feedback types given: Are we talking about a necessary bug fix here or an enhancement? Or even about "workflow"? After all, I do use audiobooks for work. To Apple, it‘s probably enhancement, but considering the issue in hand that doesn‘t seem serious enough.

Have you actually installed Mario Adrian's Audiobook Player? I imagine that there wouldn't be any audiobook settings if you hadn't (or maybe some other third party audiobook app).

Sorry, I did not understand that you were referring solely to the Mario Adrian audiobooks player. There are so many suggestions in this thread it's getting difficult to keep track of! I do have the Audible player app installed on my iPhone, so I guess the "audiobooks" setting you are referring to in iCloud is only in reference to the Mario Adrian app. At this point I'm not willing to spend more money on this issue. For now I'll stick with the Audible and Overdrive apps, since those are the two places I'm getting audiobooks from at this time.

I used to spend hours and hours importing CD audiobooks into iTunes from my local library, but once I found Audible and my library kicked in with digital download services, I don't find the need to do all that work. And with this playback problems in iTunes I will not be giving Apple any money for audiobooks until they fix iTunes.

Posting a reply, for the first time in these forums, because this issue desperately needs fixed.

I have also noticed that if I stop the audiobook from playing because I start another audio app, like Netflix, and then return to the audiobook, the audiobook skips back to when I starts playing at the same spot where the previous session STARTED, instead of where it STOPPED. This is extremely frustrating.

Apple, please fix.

Yes, we all need to deluge Apple with this issue via their feedback problem if we want to (hopefully) get it fixed. Though, frankly, I've done that in the past with other issues and its a hit or miss proposition. I'm hoping this is a big enough issue that they'll do something about it!

I have the same problem: no more audiobook chapter summaries on my IPhone. Any word whether Apple is going to fix this? Thanks

LDKerr: It's useful sometimes to go ahead and read the entire thread…yes, it's long, but there is much to be gained, including the facts that this is NOT an Apple thread, and that there's a very convenient place to register complaints, and that several smart people have offered suggestions. This is a peer to peer discussion.

The more Apple hears about this issue, the more likely it is to be addressed. So, do it, have your friends, your wife, your puppy…whatever:

I am having the same problem and want to add my voice. Please fix this because it is annoying that it doesn't pick-up where it left off anymore.

Hope you sent it to apple. This isnt seen by them.

Everybody should send this to Apple; it will help.
