Hi Meg St._Clair! Actually I think the new look in iOS 7 is wonderful and a big improvement. I like it a lot! That's why I upgraded. So I don't think it's to do with taste. I mean, my personal taste/opinion says it's beautiful. But taste doesn't help for people who have trouble with being able to read very small print on a non-retina screen. So therefore it's more an accessibility issue than something to do with taste.

If you put yourself in the position of someone who has bad eyesight then you can't argue that it is their taste that is preventing them from enjoying their iPad.

Cheers,

Mark

This is NOT about aestetics for us that are really affected by the new screencolour in iOS7. I work with blind and partially sighted and and teaching the use of iPhones and iPads fills most of my day. Therefore it is a catastrophe when you are unable to look at the screen without getting sore eyes for hours afterwards - I just can't do my job! So please, try to understand that to me (who care a lot about aestetics usually) it doesn't matter at all how the new iOS7 looks, if I could just look at it. But I can't. And I have tried to lover the brightness very much. I wonder if it is not the amount of light but rather some kind of "non visible light" Apple have activated? Not by purpose of course, but in order to create that white white look. I have had the same experiences with some computerscreens, but not so bad as this.

It appears that my last posting was deleted/edited, since I made reference to an online process, which you'll want to search the internet for. However, if you have a backup taken via iTunes, it is possible to roll back using iTunes. Yes, maybe iOS7 is the ridiculously junenile and sad design that should never be Apple, however not to be forgotten, Apple is the master of function, and iTunes reminds you why.

Using iTunes, and downloading the correct IPSW file, I thankfully and easily rolled my iPhone back to an earlier version, albeit I lost more recent information since I didn't have a recent backup, my bad. Nevertheless, I'll be staying at iOS6.1.3, and rolling the iPad back as well.
