I am finding it difficult to read also and will not upgrade my phone. Wishing I had not done it on the IPad. I also sent in a complaint.
On the last IOS, a handful of people complained it was "too dark"
Now,....a different handful of people cant get used to it being "too bright"
😍
I like the new IOS7 plenty
There are always be people who hate the new OS and prefer the previous one. Tastes differ.
It's not age related. Search twitter for 'ios 7 eyes hurt' and you'll see tons of teens who are suffering as well.
Hi Meg St._Clair! Actually I think the new look in iOS 7 is wonderful and a big improvement. I like it a lot! That's why I upgraded. So I don't think it's to do with taste. I mean, my personal taste/opinion says it's beautiful. But taste doesn't help for people who have trouble with being able to read very small print on a non-retina screen. So therefore it's more an accessibility issue than something to do with taste.
If you put yourself in the position of someone who has bad eyesight then you can't argue that it is their taste that is preventing them from enjoying their iPad.
Cheers,
Mark
Some people are more photosensitive than others. I had eye surgery a couple of months ago and for a week or so I dimmed down my laptop and ipad and even my TV because the bright light was simply painful.

Did you miss the part where I explained that I've worn reading glasses for ten years? I am a person with bad eyesight.
No Meg St._Clair, I just don't think taste is what we are talking about here.
I have to agree that iOS7 is pretty awful... White on white on white with no icon definition makes for very difficult viewability... Plus it's laggy and slow... With juvenile looking icons... Not intuitive at all...
It just feels cheap, not developed and clunky.

Sounds like the problem may be more about vision type than aging eyes. Whatever it is, it's real. I can't stand to look at my screen. And I know by the way my eyes are reacting that this isn't something I'm going to get used to. It has nothing to do with taste. I want the new functionality, but without the new look.
This is NOT about aestetics for us that are really affected by the new screencolour in iOS7. I work with blind and partially sighted and and teaching the use of iPhones and iPads fills most of my day. Therefore it is a catastrophe when you are unable to look at the screen without getting sore eyes for hours afterwards - I just can't do my job! So please, try to understand that to me (who care a lot about aestetics usually) it doesn't matter at all how the new iOS7 looks, if I could just look at it. But I can't. And I have tried to lover the brightness very much. I wonder if it is not the amount of light but rather some kind of "non visible light" Apple have activated? Not by purpose of course, but in order to create that white white look. I have had the same experiences with some computerscreens, but not so bad as this.
It appears that my last posting was deleted/edited, since I made reference to an online process, which you'll want to search the internet for. However, if you have a backup taken via iTunes, it is possible to roll back using iTunes. Yes, maybe iOS7 is the ridiculously junenile and sad design that should never be Apple, however not to be forgotten, Apple is the master of function, and iTunes reminds you why.
Using iTunes, and downloading the correct IPSW file, I thankfully and easily rolled my iPhone back to an earlier version, albeit I lost more recent information since I didn't have a recent backup, my bad. Nevertheless, I'll be staying at iOS6.1.3, and rolling the iPad back as well.
I agree, the new fonts, font sizes, color schemes, etc. are awful on the eyes. I work with a lot of older people who use iPads, and if I am having a problem, this will be terrible for them.
Wow what a response while there are some things I don't like, I've found ways around them. These large number of responses complaining is a bigger pain. I've finally shut off the emails after 13 emails over night. I'll not be back to this thread.
Good, glad you are happy with iOS7.
