Cannot send emails after iOS 7 update

I just updated my iPad 3rd gen and iPhone 5 to iOS 7. Ever since the update, I can receive emails to all my email accounts on both devices, but I can't send emails from either device. Is anyone else having this problem and/or know of a solution?

Hello

Since this morning, I have exactly the same problem connecting to the network,

both maverick, and iOs7, iphone and ipad following error message: "connection to the mail server can not"

However, if I log on google or iCloud email without a browser, everything is fine.

The error you would sell it to the mail application from apple?

is there a fix for this problem was overcome?

I have a potential solution - at least it worked here.

I updated to iOS 7 and could no longer send emails.

BUT -- I updated over WIFI. I called my ISP (Rogers, in Canada) they said to do it instead via iTunes. So I plugged iPhone 4 into Mac Pro with iTunes, did a backup and restore. BOOM - phone is now sending emails.

Hope that helps somebody.

I found a solution and its work for me , you may follow the below step -

for SMTP setting

HOST NAME - use your SMTP server provided by ur ISP /email/domain provider...

user name : use same user name you have used in incoming server.

password : use the same password you have used in incoming server.

authentication : select PASSWORD

hope it will work for you as well.... enjoy...

Terribly annoying and obvious bug that quickly undermines my trust in iPad/iOS reliability. I've just tried to send a message, lost it 4 times in a row. Killing the mail app didn't help, but restarting iOS did. Checking the list of Diagnostics & usage data, I can see 4 corresponding crashes of the email app, named "MobileMail_....-iPad.crash". All of them contain crash description like this. Apple gets this automatically by millions of iOS users, so they can fix it easily, if they want. Waiting impatiently for that iOS update!

I have recently had a problem sending my AOL email from my ipad 2 (IOS 7). I wanted to share what i did to fix the problem and it was quite simple. I went to www.aol.com and signed into my email through the website. I then went to send a test email and was redirected to a security page that asked to enter the numbers and letters in the box into the field below. Once i did that i went back and was able to send the email. I signed out and then went to my apple homescreen. Once there i clicked on the mail icon and tried sending an email through the mail app and bingo it worked. Not sure why but it did.

I had both a Gmail and an Exchange account. After updating my Exhange account I lost the ability to send e-mails on my iPhone. I would compose a message, hit send, hear the "whoosh" and the e-mail was instantly vaporized.

I deleted my Gmail account and the problem was resolved immediately.

I then went to add my Gmail account back in and kept getting an error with my password. I forgot that I had enabled 2-step verification for my Gmail account. When you do that you need to use your "application-specific password" NOT your normal Gmail password. This link helped me to solve that issue. All is working fine again.

I benefit greatly from these forums and gleaned a bit of help from several posts so wanted to share my success this evening, after comcast emails suddenly stopped working on my ipad (ios7).

1 - deleted email account and started over:

just entered name and password - ios7 filled in the rest

2 - Went to "Advanced":

Turned SSL "off"

Authentication = password

Server Port = 110

3 - Went back to screen to set up account: Outgoing Server

Primary server = smtp.comcast.net > turned it "ON"

Choose Primary Server and make sure the settings read as follows:

Host Name = smtp.comcast.net

User Name = name@comcast.net

Password = [delete and re-enter it here, even though the field may already be populated]

Turn SSL "on" [I don't know about this one - I turned if off, per others' suggestions; but when I went back and looked at it, it had turned itself back "on" ...]

Authentication = password

Server Port 587

I don't know how long it will last; but at least for now, the above combination solved my problem. Thanks to all who contributed pieces of the puzzle!!
