Cannot send emails after iOS 7 update

I just updated my iPad 3rd gen and iPhone 5 to iOS 7. Ever since the update, I can receive emails to all my email accounts on both devices, but I can't send emails from either device. Is anyone else having this problem and/or know of a solution?

This is work...

At laaaaaast...I can use my mail again :D

So, when you have a difficulties by always having alert like "the server is not responding. Check your network connection or verify that you have entered the correct account info. you could change your host name with your domain ip address...

You don't have to delete and reinstall the mail but just edit the Host Name to be your domain server IP

my mail setting

INCOMING MAIL SERVER

Host Name XXX.XX.XX.XX. (IP of your domain server)

User Name you@domain.com

Password. Your password

SMPT

Check the SMPT of INCOMING MAIL SERVER

add server and fill the information of the server exactly like for the incoming mail server

Host Name IP domain server

User Name you@domain.com

Password your password

Use SSL ON

Authentication Password

Server Port 25

the advance section,

INCOMING SETTINGS

Use SSL OFF

Authetication Password

IMAP Path Previx /

Server Port 143

And I can use my mail again :)

Hope this could help anyone with the same problem like me (didnt work how many you delete and reinstal the email etc)

My Exchange e-mail stopped sending when I updated to IOS 7 on my IPhone 4S. It did post an error about a server problem, but the e-mail disappeared (not in OUT or SEND folders). I discovered that the e-mail actually went into the OUT of my other MAIL client which is no longer in use. Solution: I removed ALL my e-mail clients (including iCloud). Booted the iPhone. Re-installed my EXCHANGE mail client, and now it's working normally. I checked to see that it's still working after another re-boot (this time without removing the client). It does work. So, this may be a solution, unless something happens later on.

. You have to click on settings on main menu. Click on settings. Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Find your e.mail account and click on it.(i.e Hotmail) Right at the bottom (might have to scroll down) you should see "Delete Account" in red text. Click on this message. Shut down laptop and restart. Go to the above menu and add details of your new mail account (same details of your old one). If your account does not appear in the default browsers i.e Hotmail etc. just enter your e-mail address and password and it should be recognised by the server.

I have had this problem since upgrading to iOS 7, but only found out because I BCC myself on an important work email. Ran my Exchange email account simultaneously on IT Managers iPhone 5s (mine is a 5), my Wife's 4s and my phone was the only one not to send an email! I have also had the same issue with my home BT Yahoo account as well and this issue has appeared on my home WiFi, work Wifi and 3G.

Visited Apple Genius bar in Bath today and guy said it was probably a firmware issue and told me to run a DFU reset on the phone. I'm pleased to see this thread as he seemed dismissive of the problem and typically the sending emails worked whilst I was there 😠!!!!!!!!!!

Samsung is getting ever more tempting and I've been with Apple since the 3GS.....

I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 and love it. Admittedly, I tried the iPhone and found it couldn't compare to the S3. The iPad 2, which is the device I am having the e-mail issues with, was a stupid purchase that, to this day I regret making. Extremely over priced and, as we're finding out now, made by a company that is only concerned about getting a sale and not with customer satisfaction. My next Tablet will be manufactured by a company that is more responsive than Apple is to its customer's complaints.

Eventually I have got this fixed on a call with Apple. Removed my accounts. Reset network settings general>reset>reset network settings. Re-added my wifi connection. Re-added my accounts without messing with SMTP settings. Just took the standard from gmail etc. Hey presto.. all working fine. Apple seem to think after an OS upgrade the wifi settings can get a little confused!

I went to the Apple bar this morning for help with email going out issue. I use both gmail and 1and1.com as a server for 2 separate email addresses.

removing the Gmail acct. and reloading seemed to fix that one.

I went to an old Mac forum for the "other" address that would not send.

I simply added my user name and password where it indicates "optional"; turned SSL on, checked "password" for authentication on server port 587...back in business; sending and receiving w/o problem
