iOs 7 on iPad 3

Hello there.

I have ipad 3, new ipad with 16gb and 3g hardware.

Did you notice battery drain? I had my battery down in something like 4.30 hours.

The keyboard is really slow, i noticed an important lag during the use of it!

Wifi perfomance is really bad.

The only thing the customer care answered me is that they have no information about this, and i'm the only one experencing this problem........

Someone noticed the same?

Thanks

iPad 3 16G WiFi 3G (upgraded on evening of the 18th)

I only use 3G when traveling, mostly for GPS, so I can't comment on what impact it might have. I'm usually within range of a WiFi signal otherwise.

I'm also having battery drain problems with my iPad 3. I purchased it new when they came out and have used it through all the IOS 6 upgrades without any problems at all. Under IOS 6 I was able to run all day (most of the time) and still have 30% or more charge left at night when I put it on the charger. I've tried all the IOS 7 battery saving suggestions I've found on the internet with only a small battery improvement (roughly 10% or less after doing a RESET).

I used to be able to do a full charge overnight but the highest charge level I've seen since I upgraded to IOS 7 is 91% (wasn't fully discharged when I put it on the charger). If it has shut down due a low battery it usually runs around 65% after an overnight charge (roughly 11 PM to 7 AM). Just to be sure this wasn't caused by a hung app I've started hard booting it each night (assuming the a low battery hadn't already shut it down) before I put it on the charger without any further improvement.

One thing I've noticed that I haven't seen mentioned is my iPad runs warm even when it is just sitting arround with nothing running. It has always run warm after a full charging session or extended usage session but I have never noticed it being warm when I pick it up after having it just sitting for several hours.

I'm not using the smart cover but I have my iPad set to turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity. I'm using the original Apple charger and cable that came with my iPad. I have a second charger and cable purchased from Apple that I use when traveling but it does the same thing. Hopefully Apple will resolve this issue quickly. As many people have mentioned doing full charge/discharge cycles is really hard on the battery and shortens it's life greatly.

I also have 2 x 4S iPhones (AT&T) which I upgraded to IOS 7 without any problems (mine on the 18th and my wife's on the 21st after I had verified my upgrade was working correctly. We all upgrade our personal equipment and verify them before upgrading our wife's, RIGHT!!! :>)

I heard the ios 7 Beta for iPad was about 3 weeks behind the iPhone one when origionally released in June. I believe but am not certain optimizing for battery life is one of the last steps before they release. I have a feeling we will see an update in the next couple of weeks. I'm also holding out hope for quick reply in 7.1 when Mavericks is released. I guess I'm gonna hold on to my iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak for another couple of weeks. I don't think they will screw us iPad 3rd Gen owners again after killing them off after just 6 months of selling them, but then again they do get pretty hot mybe it is just bad hardware?

Hello. I have also and iPad 3. My iPad become too slow and too sluggish. Effect are not so smooth and not all effects are enable. (F.e translucency is not enables on control and notification center.) they have to fix lags and bugs, and enable again translucency like iOS 7 Beta 4!! I think iPad 3 is too powerful to hold up effects and become again as fast as before!!!

Same issue here with my iPad3. How I regret to have updated to iOS7. I was in love with my iPad, it was fast, beauty and smooth. Now it behaves like a cheap chinese Android tablet. 😟

Everything lags, animations get stucked and I have a very bad feeling using the iPad.

I think Apple should give the option to go back to iOS6.

I'm not seeing any of these issues on my iPad3 - apart from higher battery drain, I didn't see any during the beta period either.

Things to try that might help:

1. Reset network settings (settings, General, Reset.

If that doesn't help:

2. Rest all settings

If that doesn't help:

3. Restore (make sure you back up to iTunes firts

There's no ipad 3rd gen 16gb with 3G I have model number a1416 and thats the only 16gb ipad 3rd gen and its wifi there is no 3G for 3rd gens google it you won't find a 3rd gen ipad with 3G capabilities it's either 32gb or 64gb no 16. Also I do agree with the keyboard lag on my model which is ipad 3rd gen wifi only internet graphics apps and everything work fine also iPads are notorious for draining battery life turn down the brightness turn off your location services on apps you really don't need it for remember you have just updated your system so you need to not be lazy and reconfig your settings also so people do not become mislead add your devices model number to your posts make your posts more believable and reliable and helpful so people can pinpoint the issues on their specific device we all love our apple products so be helpful by doing so. Last but not least ios7 was specifically made for the 5s to show off power and beauty and not to somehow turn our older phones and iPads into brand new phones and iPads i mean cmon android has like 20 different companies making 100 different phones where as apple focuses on the ipad iPhone and iPod giving it way more attention way more reliability and way more security android can't maintain all their phones os but apple can because apple is smart by limiting themselves to hold all the keys could you imagine how bad an iPhone would look if Samsung took a try at it . It would look like an ipad mini lol all I'm saying is if your ipad lags go back to 6 until they fix it or buy a upgraded model ipad and Walmart does not sell those buy an actual new ipad because a 3rd gen ipad was released in early 2012 which means its design was made atleast 1-3 prior to that which means it was not built for ios7 it came prior to that
