iPhone 5 camera not working after ios 7 update

The front camera works initially, but the rear camera shows a blurry image which then freezes the app. Several hard resets have had no effect.

7.0.2 is out, so I'm doing another fresh restore to see if I can still spare myself the drive to NC. I'm very doubtful, but at least I'll save time at the Genius Bar by not having to hear the "update to the latest OS" speech.

I've also found a surefire way to trigger the failure, should Camera actually decide to work (this happens ~40% of the time for me)

EDIT: No dice. You can disregard this post entirely.

With my history with apple. That charge is a replacement fee for the phone, they normally don't charge you that unless you are out of warranty or there is other damage to the phone(water, battery issues, physical damage)

Did they show you the full diagnostics? And were you out of warranty?

Then again 270 for a brand new phone is better then dropping 800 for a new one. Just my opinion.

I have the exactly same problem.. too bad Apple, you are already loosing the market share to Android and you make problems in the existing products instead of improving your products. I so regret that I upgraded the software. I am gonna take my phone to Apple store tomorrow, and if they cant do anything, I am gonna sell this and changing to Samsung. Sorry you have to keep up apple.

This is a hardware issue. Only way to fix it is to replace the phone. Make an appointment with apple at there Genius Bar.

If you are still under warranty you will get a free phone. If not I believe its 270 for a replacement phone. Don't quote me on this but I believe they can give you the 270 credit towards a 5c or 5s if you want but don't quote me on that.
