I have the same problem. Noticed battery draining alarming and then read that it is happening to most people I know.

I don't use twitter and fb apps, I have no push notification, location notices switched off, don't use game apps, brightness reduced, etc etc. I might as well not use an iPad now!

Charged the battery last evening upto 100%. When I went to sleep it was at 95%. Now the only thing I've done on it is to READ viber messages and iMessages I received, and read apple support and turn off more settings and in the last half hour and it's down to 86%!!!

I am going to send in a feedback thing too.

Oh and by the way, when I click on 'branched to a new discussion' at the top I get a message saying I am not allowed to see that discussion!

When you get the denied access error that means the thread was deleted or the post was deleted.

See my posts on page 4 - you could be having the same core file issues.

Phone: iPhone 4S

SIM: Vodafone NL

Working fine with latest iOS6 almost two full days in standby or very light use.

Working fine with latest iOS6 a full day and some power (10 - 25%) left at night with normal phonecall usage(1 - 1,5 hrs / day), internet browsing, wordfeud, news Apps, etc.

After iOS7 installation battery drains within 12 hrs in standby or within 10 hrs with very light use. Normal / heavy use allows just few hours.

Settings in iOS 6 and iOS7 as follows:

All App's closed when not using

Mail Push is off

Notifications off

Location setting off

App backround refreshment off

Wifi On

Tried all tricks that I could find on the internet without major results, something is draining the battery but can't find what it is......

Though my battery life improved with usage, its still never as good or even close to when i ran iOS 6. Using mobile data just saps battery in a flash, drains highly abnormally. 5- 7 min of 3G had consumed 11%. One moment i saw 10% and the next it became 5%! Crazy! Went into damage control mode, turning off/ disabling stuff so that i could get home with the available battery.

Yet another iphone 5 user here, who is beyond frustrated by the new iOS7 battery drain—never, ever a problem before this awful OS "upgrade." Battery is still draining at record speed, even after turning just about every app and option OFF. I'm taking bets on how long Apple pretends the issue we're all clearly having doesn't exist. Major fail, Apple. Major fail.

I wonder if all of us who have poor battery life are just the result of a bad install. If so, then don't expect apple to change anything when 7.02 comes out. But, maybe just going through that install will fix the bad files, so we'll all think it's something being fixed.

I'd say it might be worth going through the reinstall over and over until the battery works. But as Kitten has pointed out, you have to give up your life for a day.

Paul, I'd give the bad install theory a shot if I were everyone else here. I've had my phone on and unplugged since 9:38 last night and I'm down a whopping 4%. And I've played two games, texted a few people and fiddled with more apps setting up what I lost.

Just be more careful to take note of things you're going to lose. It wasn't that difficult to get things back as they were and so far my only complete losses have been my games and my business card file. I don't have or just can't find the cards to put in there again.

Now I can concentrate on griping about the awful aesthetics of the OS 👿

Good afternoon team, I have an up date to my post. Since turning off all the background services, including the weather...which I will be turning back on, my battery life have improved over the past 2 days. Though, I do not check Facebook that often anymore, which seems to be the biggest drain I've observed so far, I'm happy to report that from 6:15am to 4:450m, I'm currently at 81%. This is with email push set to every 15 mins (27 emails in that time frame) and actually reading them and even responding to some, 10-12 text message and of course showing off some of the new features to my agents such as the slow motion effect and finger print scanner. I also had several timers and reminders that went off and of course my custom ring tone that played over several short calls. I personally, no longer feel like I have a battery issue however, 95% or more of the background services have been turned off. I'm going to turn them back on slowly to see the impact that they will have on battery life. I only, or try to charge my phone once per day. Usually, this is just before I go to bed. Last night I deliberately tried to drain the battery, I played a drag racing game for about 20 mins, surfed the App Store and even download iMovie and created a movie of my daughters birthday. I exchanged texts with a friend, maybe 20 or so and played with iTunes radio for 10 mins. My battery went from 71% to 47% with all that activity which ended up draining me instead. Hope this helps, and if requested, I can attach screen shots of all the services that I turned off to help aid some of the team in trying to improve their battery life.

I seem to be experiencing fast battery drain on my iPhone 5 when using 3G data. I've been seeing around 1% drain every 1-2 minutes during 3G use even in areas of good reception. This seems to be signifactly worse than I had with iOS6.

Standby time and use on WiFi seem to be Ok. There's no LTE service so can't comment on that.

Just to share my experience. I have a year-old iPhone 5, recently upgraded to ios7. It was a fresh install and all apps were set up one by one. Battery life was very bad. I was losing 1% every minute while playing with the phone.

I deleted my office Exchange email account, and did a "Reset All Settings" (Settings -> General -> Reset).

After that, battery life was significantly better.

I added back my Exchange account and turned off push. Battery life dropped a little, but was no where as bad as before.
