Tonefox is claiming the issue affects "up to a hundred individuals".
Not so. Read it again: "how many posts from the same posters? Maybe up to a hundred individuals?". I made no estimate as to the number of users with the problem, only the number of users posting on this thread. I suggest again that if the issue were caused only by the new iOS, then there would be over 200 million people in the world unable to access wifi, and it would have hit national newspapers and TV. Please do not misquote me.

Removing the ' from my iPhone's "name" seemed to solve my wifi problem. I'm running 7.0.2 on an iPhone 5.
My guess is it is not a problem with IOS but the router firmware in the handling of strings. The apostrophe is now properly being sent in the identification string to the router by IOS. The router sees the apostrophe as a single quote mark and searches for the ending quote mark (apostrophe). Such ending quote is never found thus the identification string is not correct and improperly formed according to the router. An apostrophe is not improper in the string, it is just the router that is incorrectly processing the string.
One possible solution is to upgrade your router firmware to the latest revision, or purchase a new router. A lot of advances have been made in the last couple of years with router technology and firmware. You will get a stronger and more robust signal.
Many have had success connecting to more current routers at their work location and public WIFI spots.

Bought a Samsung Galaxy! Yippeee - I am free - no more will Apple mess up my life with an ios update and blame me, the hardware or anything else! They have lost the plot! Farewell dear friends.....
As Arnold would say "You'll be back" when an Android update borks something in your device. Or most annoying, a rogue app trashes a bunch of other stuff. Ever wonder why it is highly recommended to run AV software on Android? With Apple all the apps are vetted by Apple. With Android you get what you get. There is no validation by anyone of the software. There have already been multiple rogue apps for Android.
You are also at the mercy of your cell provider as to when you get updates for Android. Unless you root your phone. Galaxy is a fine device, so is iPhone. They are tools, they are not life support systems. If you don't like one product you can change as you have done.

But then, it would be more difficult to debate with you. Because then, he'd have to address the actual facts, instead of relying upon emotionalism.
Really people, I thought this was a discussion for "support". I have been following this thread to see if anyone comes up with a fix for our mutual issue of IOS 7 causing wifi problems. Criticizing each other doesn't help any of us!
Hardware:
I have 2 iphone 4's [plain old 4, no S]
1 iphone is at&t
1 iphone is verizon
I also have 1 ipad mini (verizon)
My at&t iphone 4 is old. I have it since it first came out.
The Verizon iphone 4 is about 1.5 years old.
The mini will be a year old come december.
My at&t phone upgraded to 7 fine and works flawlessly.
The verizon ipad mini was upgraded to 7, also no problems whatsoever.
The verizon iphone 4 is experiencing the greyed out wifi switch/no bluetooth.
I have tried EVERY fix on this thread over the past few days (even the fridge 🙂, when I hit brief moment of desperation)
Two nights ago, I reset the Verizon iphone 4 again, for no reason other than to try it, and it worked.
It saw my network and joined it with no intervention from me. Keep in mind, I reset this thing at least 20 times prior to try and fix it.
It was on the network when i woke up and stayed on till about 7:00pm last night.
Then, like it never happened, it stopped working (greyed out wifi switch/ no bluetooth).
I again reset the phone, and it was fine (joined wifi by itself, no signs of the error).... strange.
I don't have a solution, but it got me wondering....
What carrier do most of the people with this problem use?
I doubt it's limited to one carrier, but it could help identify the hardware, as the model/carrier have slight variations of the same hardware.
*My background:
20+ years in the IT field (apple hardware repair, windows hardware repair, desktop support, network admin, small business consultant, trading floor support, done it all). I only write this to rule out user error.
Oh Im not saying there isn't a problem. There usually is issues with any updates, be it Xbox or Computers or Iphones.... Ive updated my own stuff, along with other peoples many times and sometimes OTA has been not as reliable. One example just recently is that I was updating an Ipad 3 that I gave to my Dad. The OTA update he installed worked, but opening apps or just scrolling in the settings was a bit buggy(slowwwww). I saved a backup and did it through the computer. Corrected the problems.
The wifi thing, I dont know. I haven't experienced it. I was just weighing in that if you are experiencing anything on a software update. I would do a reset fresh on Itunes through the computer. Usually that can correct most things.
Thats all 🙂

iOS 7 doesn't cause any wi-fi problems. You need to look for another cause.
There have been exactly ZERO confirmed instances that iOS 7 has been the root cause of a wi-fi issue. More likely, it is defective hardware.
If you have not already used troubleshooting articles: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 & http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1559 , do so now. If your issue persists, contact Apple.
I have had the same issues. I have the iphone 4, my father has the iphone 4. His seems to be working still and he has not updated to the newest iOS 7 update. I did. My wife has a iphone 4s, she updated to the newest update and her wifi doesnt work. Seems like it is something with the newest update to iOS 7. All devices worked fine with wifi yesterday morning...
WiFi connection is not working on my iPhone 4s even when I upgrade it to 7.0.2, I am seriously thinking to by Galaxy Note 3 in case if this problem have not solved. We need a new update to sold this problem.
Hey ron310 -- Interesting post.
Mine is a Verizon 4s (still under Apple Care) .... and is about 1.5 years old too. Have not been able to connect to WiFi, despite the remedies listed. Hardware-wise, I am 100% Apple (Airport WiFi, iPad, iMac) ...with cable internet. I have not upgraded the OS on my iPad.... and I've told my parents to hold off on their Verizon phones (also 4s) until I figure out the problem with mine.
Don't know if is the carrier, the hardware or IOS 7. I live in Panama, Central America, around me are friends that had upgraded to IOS 7 with the iphone 4s including my husband and nothing happen to them. Try everything and still have the same problem. Not going to upgrade any device until can solve this issue.

Of those three, it can only be hardware.
Your wireless carrier has nothing to do with your wi-fi (unless they also provide your home internet service and/or your wi-fi router).
iOS 7 doesn't cause any wi-fi problems. At worst, the HEAT from the update process overheats and disables the wi-fi chip, which means the wi-fi chip is defective.
My wife had the same problem and was so frustrated she changed back to her old old HTC but then hated it then switched ack to Iphone and every worked fine. We had tried everything before doing this.
my iphone wifi was not working when i upgraded it to ios 7, i just updated it to ios 7.0.2 but it still not working. so what should i do?
