I wanted to update my situation for the record - not that anyone from Apple intends to correct this problem - my 4S had the greyed out wifi button several days after the updgrade. But then after resetting and following a few of the ideas in this thread I got the green button back. Problem averted ... or so I thought.

I left the US for a one month trip to Europe with my 4S. Wifi was working fine once again. However, in the past week I was on a train passing through many cell zones. And I noticed the phone seemed to be draining the battery faster than normal was getting hot.

When I got to a wifi router I tried to turn on wifi and guess what, the button was greyed out again. Also I am not able to turn on the bluetooth.

So I'm stuck in Europe with an iPhone that doesn't function as it should.

What a nuissance.

Another iphone 4s owner here that upgraded to iOS 7 a little over 3 weeks ago now. Immediately after updating my wifi and bluetooth stop working.

Went to the apple store the next day and employee tells me it's the first he's heard of the problem. He goes in the back and then comes back and says he spoke with a "Cupertino Engineer" and they say that my wifi and bluetooth were already fault and the update put it over the top. Says he can't do anything and offers me the out of warranty $199. I decline and then refers to me a manager. I speak to the manager and he can't do anything either. Tells me to speak to Apple Care level 2. I speak to a rep and he says that it was the first time hearing of the problem too. Tries to do some trouble shooting to no avail. He says he is going to do research on it and get back to me. Comes back with no resolution. I told him that I am not the only one with the issue and it isn't purely coincidental that when I upgraded to iOS7 my wifi and bluetooth stop working. I even send him links to this post to which his reply is people will post and agree to pretty much anything someone posts.

Apple Care guy tells me to go check wifi connectivity at Apple store so I go out there again and the employee tells me it's the first he's heard of this issue. Does a few resets to the phone with no success. He then tells me they can't check wifi without the wifi working. Why in the world did apple care guy tell me to go to Apple Store then? Waste of my time. I then try calling Apple Care again to speak to a different rep and tell my problem. She tells me it's the first she's heard of this issue. She tells me they can't do anything. You can only get a out of warranty replacement for $199. No thank you.

I wrote an even longer post on the discussion boards a couple nights ago and apple removes my posts.

Shame on you Apple for not acknowledging the problem!! Shame on you Apple for telling your employees to say they have never heard of this problem. That is blatantly lying to people for your own benefit.

I understand the dilemma that you are in Apple. If you admit to the issue then you would have to repair all the phones that were damage due to updating to iOS 7. I just think its really unfortunate that Apple can't acknowledge the problem and do something about it.

Lol are you Kidding me...

The other day I Thought **** Ye an Update that will fix all these **** Issue's with WIFI..

So I Backed up my SHSH.Blobs So I can Downgrade anytime after apple stop signing.

& Then did a Back-up & Upgraded to the IOS 7.0.3 & Guess what People...

IT NEVER FIXED THE WIFI 😟 So So Dissapointed in Apple even more now than i was.

It's Plain to see Apple are to Chicked & Terrified to Step-up & Admit they F**ked-up..

So Today I sold my Apple Iphone to Cash Convertors & Got my self a New Windows Phone for work & a Samsung Galaxy for personal use.

So As of today I've left apple for good.

But will still keep an eye here to see what's happening..

Just updated iPad and iPhone4S to OS7.0.3 thinking the bugs might be fixed and now I can't connect to WiFi to complete the iPad update!

Does anyone find it difficult to understand how and why updates are released by Apple with all these bugs?

I always wait for the third version of an update, but now even that caution is letting me down!!!

Does anyone from Apple actually come on to these discussions? It's so great how they are all 'ra-ra-ra' about how fantastic Apple is, but when there's an issue the disappear!

Any news on when the WiFi bug will be fixed? CBF reading all 43 pages

Total BS..

Sent my iphone for service and miracoulously found "moisture" inside which automatically puts the iphone out of guarantee..

It's that special type of moisture that miracoulously greys out the wi-fi use but lets all other things intact!

What a joke!

No one is here to answer, no one answer the 80044145417 "help line" in Greece..

Goodbye Apple, have a nice flight down...

Just adding one more person with the WiFi fail aftger upgrading to ios 7. WiFi had been working without a hitch on ios 6 on my iPhone 4s since I bought it last November. Since "upgrading" to 7 I've had all the problems described: WiFI graying out, WiFi disconnecting and not reconnecting and crashes to bacl screen requiring the "two button reset". I've done Apple's entire list of remediations: clearing network settings, restarting the router and a total wipe and restore. Yesterday I upgraded to the .3 release. Alas, the problem is still here. I sure wish Apple would acknowledge the problem and more importantly, do something about it.

It really looks as if Apple was lying to us all. They've never heard of the issue? Really? Too many "coincedenses" of hardware failure AFTER UPGRADING TO IOS7, don't you think?

There was someone in the discussion who said that we should've bought Apple Care. Whereas in many countries (f.e. in Poland, where I come from) it's not possible to buy Apple Care for iPhone because Apple doesn't sell it for this device. And iPhones are much more expensive here, than in the States - and if you include how little people earn here, this phone is REALLY expensive. (Would you be willing to pay about $3000 for it in the US, 'cause that's a similar price if you count our salaries). We can't afford to buy a piece of crap for the fortune that we pay for those phones!
