Also I'm assuming that you followed the steps that apple laid out for an issue like this right? http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398

To TJBUSMC1973: You have just insulted a lot of people who are (or have been until recently) loyal to Apple, who loved their iPhones, and who are now experiencing FRUSTRATION, not HATE, because they have been duped into buying defective devices (there seems to be a consensus regarding the faulty wifi chip), and are now being ignored by the manufacturer who is engaged in spin-doctoring a bad situation at their cost rather than recognizing the problem and dealing with it (that's the REALITY).
To everybody else: Just a reminder that TJBUSMC1973's lack of empathy for the victims may derive from the fact that (according to his/her profile) his/her devices are still running on iOS 6.
This solved my issue: http://helpios7.com/fix-wifi-connection-issue-ios-7/
Out of shear desperation I walked into the Apple Store in Cape Town (South Africa) yesterday to see if they have any news from Apple to solve this iPhone 4s – wifi issue. Well before I even said “Good Morning” to the tech support, he saw my iPhone 4s and uttered the follow:
“wifi issue, right? Sorry there is no solution, you are about the 100th customer I’ve seen with this issue in the last couple of weeks. Sorry. Try to restore to factory settings on iTunes.”
My response to him was, I’ve tried that and it doesn’t work.
Sigh!!!
😠
Prokhozhy, I just wrote a similar message like yours and it was censored within minutes, even though my wording was civil similar to yours. Much more respectfull compared to him. Polite we are. Looks like he has some friends at Apple's....
Best advise to everyone: just ignore him.....

Somehow with what he is saying, (it's the fault of the customer since we did not buy extended warranty) I am starting to believe more and more TJ----73 is just an alias used by Tim Cook, and it's just Tim Cook giving us his opinion on Apple customers... ;-)
Why, I do believe that if we keep on goading Malus (Lat.), we might actually bore them into action :-) Incidentally, the petition on Channge.orrg is picking up slowly but surely despite all their efforts to hush-hush this thing. When more and more affected customers scattered throughout the world start to realize what is going on, things might get really interesting. The truth shall be known, and I truly don't care how this happens - through a voluntary "own-it-up-and-disclose" exercise or under a subpoena ;-)
Well, regardless of who that person is, it appears that the fan's gonna be hit big time because of the magnitude of this debacle. I read a post on another thread where a guy from South Africa said that in one city alone about a hundred people had come within one week to complain about their wifi going belly up. It's only a matter of time before some big paper picks up on this piece of news. And that will be instant karma in action.
Have been working hard on this but we need to do it together....
Appleoff nowifi cocktail recipe: mix massive amounts of corporate avarice and corporate ineptitude, add a modicum of corporate cowardice, enjoy. :-))))) It'll blow you away...
Hi Bin,
Have you looked at macrumors.com? I find it to be easier to find problems because it has FAQs and a different set of posting rules (if you know what I mean).
Over there, I searched for "4S wifi", "wifi", "ios 7 wifi" and got more or less the same number of thread hits: 400+.
Now, people are divided into 2 camps: either we have some kind of wifi problem, or we don't, so whoever speaks out on this issue would be one of the 2 camps.
I currently don't have wifi problems (one learns that even something like working wifi has to be appreciated, this is ridiculous!) but if I were to face this problem, here's what I would do:
A. Is the iphone still under warranty? If yes --> get replacement.
B. If not, would Apple still replace it? Yes for some individuals. Maybe it depended on store, their available stock, and maybe even on presentation of problem.
Out of warranty and Apple store won't replace it for free? Now I would think this way:
1. Weigh the cost of monetary loss due to data overages with the replacement of US$199.
2. Am I satisfied with my current carrier? Would I switch to another?
3. Am I satisfied with the iOS ecosystem (iTunes, movies, iTunes University, Podcasts, etc)
There's also the difficulty of proving, other than on my own account, of the time of wifi breakage. Is this fair? Well, I think Apple took the approach of going 50-50 with out of warranty replacements (they pay half, we pay half).
If we search on eBay for the going price of refurbished iPhone4S, it's around $400 from the more reputable sellers and more often sold as-is. Compare this with $199 plus 90 days warranty from Apple for a replacement, this is not a bad deal.
What can we gather from these findings? I won't say it here, and leave it to each reader's interpretation.
I'm ok with my current service provider, and I'm already invested into the iOS ecosystem, so I would rather spend the same $199 to get this year's model. Why? I'm paying the same monthly rate regardless of whether the phone has its contract fulfilled or not. One of these days we'll be the beneficiary of Apple's warranty, ie the phone broke due to other reasons but they still issue a replacement.
(PS: I have compared prepaid and other carriers, but my current carrier gives me a better deal on contract due to corporate discount.)
Best wishes.
What the heck are you blabbing about???
If and if and if..
It's a fault caused by Apple's untested (willingly or not) software causing damage to the hardware (faulty or not)... Their fault has caused damage to many iphone 4s and even iphone 5s and even ipad users WORLDWIDE..!
The least they can do, is to come out, admit it and replace phones regardless of whether they are under waranty or not..
Come on folks, do you honestly believe that if Apple does not address the problem and rather tries to just hide it under the rug, that they 'd get away with it?
Is it not obvious to realise that the corporate image has already been damaged beyond recognition?
BUT SERIOYSLY what do you think for the future???
Do you honestly believe that Apple will be trusted again by users, existing, future and past?
Wake Up and Smell The Roses!
I found a solution to my problem. Nothing I have tried was working, so I went into a Verizon store. I am writing this on a Galaxy Note 3. My friends are all shocked, thinking I would never leave Apple. I'm shocked too. But hey, now my wifi works just fine. I'm glad I was able to find a solution to this problem, despite Apple not thinking they could help me.

After spending about 2hours with "support"... they are so sorry... I finally got a guy to agree to exchange my phone but it is not a simple process. I should bill them for my time and input to this unacceptable situation that they are so sorry about. I did not get a sure guarantee of an exchange but a good possibility. It should keep me without a phone for at least a couple of weeks. Thanks Apple.😟
So, does Apple get to bill you for the time involved in troubleshooting your device?

Thanks for the reminder, Prok. I hadn't updated that in a long time. I'd actually been running iOS 7 on my iPhone 4 for a few months, just never updated my profile.
The reality is that you bought a device with a one-year warranty. It functioned properly for one year. Your warranty was fulfilled.
Do I think that Apple should have a longer, built-in warranty? Absolutely. But ranting and yelling about it on this forum does absolutely nothing (other than make you feel better by venting your frustration).
If all you want is to vent, okay. Keep going. If you want something to actually CHANGE, then take more appropriate action. Give feedback to Apple. Use apple.com/feedback. Write a letter to Apple. If you're a shareholder, express your opinion on the matter through those channels (as I have).
Claiming you have some sort of right that isn't supported by any documentation is pointless. You want change? Go take appropriate action to promote that change. This forum isn't the place for it.

I wish I had Tim Cook's money!
I'm an Apple customer, just like you Bin. Stop with the conspiracy theories. Besides, if I was Tim Cook, then why wouldn't I just block your access to apple.com and void your Apple ID? 😉
