Hope they fix this soon - tried everything that folks have suggested... the iMessage that is.. The regular SMS works fine and I dont use facetime that much but iMessage - who doesnt, when you have friends that communicate through iphones/ipods/ipads as well.?
I only just upgraded to IOs7 yesterday and experienced the same imessage/facetime issues everyone's describing above. i didn't wait th 24 hours apple suggest to fix it becuase it was hapening all day. i tried many suggestions given here to no avail. finally did the following
1. connected iphone to ITUNES and selected THIS COMPUTER in Backups for full backup
2. navigate to Settings > General > Reset and select "Erase all content and settings"
3. let the computer do its thing, takes a few minutes.
4. once the iphone resets, it will take you through steps to set up ie: language, country etc., once you arrive at setup, I chose RESTORE FROM ITUNES.
Problem Fixed. i hope this helps someone out. you guys sure helped me out.
I fixed the problem by resetting the network as someone else has suggested earlier in the postings:
SETTINGS >>>>>>> GENERAL >>>>>>>> RESET >>>>>> RESET NETWORK SETTINGS
iMessage and Facetime worked without issue (I'm using an iPhone 4s)
edit: with iOS 7
You f'ckin a hole!! Never should have listened to you. I lost all my apps (not factory ones) plus all the data within those apps. Followed your instructions to a "t". Don't mislead people into thinking Apple actually is helping people or even cares.
The iMessage function on OS X doesn't work either :/ The same error message... Hope they fix it soon...
Try reset network and all settings but couldnt fix the bugs. the messages keep rejecting and 3G signal lost all the time.
Thanks for this info. It worked for me. I am out of my country and updated my ipad2 to IOS7 and could not sign into iMessages or FaceTime. Thanks!!!
Here's a list of the possible fixes: http://ipadtutr.com/fix-login-facetime-imessage-ios-7/
The network reset worked for me.
Didn't work
This problem has been going on ever since the ios7 update. Apple needs to fix this bug with an update on priority. It's an absolute lack of care and sensitivity towards its customers who pay a lot for its products.
I was having the same problem tried everything and nothing worked. Finally I called apple and found out it was my time zone that needed to be updated :) hope this helps
I have tried most of the suggestions listed : resetting time and timezone, resetting the network, setting the DNS to 8.8.8.8 ... none of these have worked.
Very frustrating. I've had the iphone for years, and used FaceTime regularly via wifi (my cell phone reception is limited). Now I can't : "FaceTime Activation ... Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again" every time.
I have not been able to sign in to FaceTime since the iOS7 update, in spite of numerous attempts (on several different networks).
I can sign in and use FaceTime on my Mac, so the account is not the issue. And the iphone's network connection works fine for browsers etc. I don't understand why this login is so fragile.
I hope that a system update fixes this bug soon.
Thannx Nicole ,this worked for me
