Vibrate not working at all with iOS7

I have a problem with my ringer and vibration too!!! I noticed it in recent months after my phone turned 1 year old!

For me, when my phone is not on ringer mode, it vibrates as though I have pushed the switch button. While my phone is on on vibration mode with the switch pushed down, there's sounds and ringing coming out of it.

I'm not sure if it's a software or hardware problem, could someone advise? Though it's a little saddening for a phone that's less than 2 years old

I have the same issue, I'm sure all the settings are ok.

After slapping the iPhone and turn off then turn on the vibrate it works again, but only a few times then won't work again...

I just had the same problem with my phone and all i did was call phone from another phone and it started vibrating again. it really worked. i had tried everything else

Spoke with a Level 3 tech. Problem goes away on IPhone 5 if you make sure the slider button above the volume control shows orange and you've configured how you want to use vibration.....with or without ringing, it works!

That button, effectively, is a "silent mode" one. No matter how you adjust your volume, high to low, as long as you're showing orange, your phone will only vibrate. Move it up and it won't.

Adjust your settings for vibrate only or vibrate with ringing in Options and keep the "Change with Buttons" as green and you should be good to go.

Solved my problem right away.

It is insane that Apple hasn't been able to figure this out. I have done everything that it is suggested here and I even replace the vibrator but nothing and it all happened when I upgraded to IOS7, there is got to be a fix, whoever find it, please post it. I hate keeping my phone in sound, I am so used to the vibrator option.

MD13fan - What I posted directly above your most recent post, I received yesterday from a Tier 3 Apple Tech.

I followed her instructions and did the same on all three of my IPhone 5S phones. The problem was immediately resovled and fixed on all of them. It has not recurred.

That side button, above the volume controls must be showing orange.

In SETTINGS:

1. Go to Sound,

2. Under VIBRATE - make your choices on whether you want to "Vibrate on Ring" and/or "Vibrate on Silent."

3. Go to RINGER and ALERTS (right under VIBRATE).

4. Under CHANGE WITH BUTTONS - make sure you're showing the green part of the slider.

Then as long as you have a ringer tone and a vibrate tone selected, exit out of there.

If your phone's side button (the "silence" button) is showing orange, you should have no problems and everything working as you want, just as I did.

If your phone's side button (the "silence" button) is not in the orange postion, your status quo before all of the above should remain in effect.

Again, this "silence" button is directly above the volume buttons on an IPhone 5S.

I read your comment and I realized that mine is making that same noise coming from the inside. I do not live anywhere near an apple store! How can i fix my vibration??

tcmitssr, I have done what you are suggesting many times over. I'm very savvy when it comes to apple products, and is don't understand why apple hasn't been to figure this out. It is not a hardware issue, my phone was working 100% before the update and I even replace the vibrator motor with a brand new one and still doesn't vibrate. Al also tried to swap the vibrator on another phone an that didn't work either but my vibrator did work on the other phone thus proving the fact that it is a software issue. I don't think it has anything to do with any setting either.

I think many of us are having this issue because of a new feature in iOS7. In iOS7 you can chose a standard or custom vibration: settings > sounds > ringtone > vibration (at the top) > standard or custom. As soon as I chose one (standard or custom) my phone started vibrating when a call came in while on silent. Prior to this I missed quite a few calls because it wasn't vibrating while on silent.

Seven pages of comments and I have tried ALL of the suggestions with no noticable results. There is no need to continue to repeat them over and over. I just updated to IOS 7.1 and.... no vibrate. I also re-tried all of the suggestions above with no change.

The only thing that I DO have, is the faint "click click" when I toggle anything that would normally result in a vibration. Replacing the vibrate motor sounds like another hit or miss operation, but possibly the only thing left to try.

Any opinions on the new crop of Android phones?

New info , for my problem at least. I remembered my wife had the screen replaced a few weeks back and thought that could be the problem, an incorrect replacement. So I found the dissassemble page instructions and took the screen off.

Sure enough, the vibrate motor spun just fine. Looking closely, they put a small piece of electrical tape over the back of some components on the back of the screen. This tape was hanging over just enough to interfer with the spinning weight! I trimmed it off, reassembled it and all back to normal.

Something to check if the screen has ever been replaced.

Hey! I have the same problems with my iphone 5s. I've tried all the things mentioned above, but no result. I am mad I don't remember if it was vibrating when I bought it 3 months ago and if it was when it stoppped. The phone is still under the warranty, but I don't trust them, I am afraid when I'll get it back it will have other problems...What do you guys think I should do?
