iPhone 5s Power Button Loose/Rattling Noise

Today I had scheduled a Genius Bar appointment for my loose rattling power button. I can hear it rattle when I record video and move around, the video even records the sound and it interferes with the video. It is also bothersome, in general, to have a rattling noise on my phone. The "genius" had me unlock the phone (since I have a passcode/fingerprint I.D) and he took it to the back to take a look at it, came back and said there's nothing wrong and that it's the "vibrating motor." Yeah, sure. I place my finger on the power button and move my phone and it has 0 rattling, when I let go it rattles like a maraca. I then asked him if he could open it and try and fix it for me, and he told me that he had just opened it and everything checked out fine. Another lie, he gave me my phone back unlocked and into my settings. If he opened it it would have been turned off, and on again which would request my passcode which he doesn't have. My previous iPhone 3/4S/5 has never done this and I see it as a simple fix if they were to really open it. I have fully purchased a new iPhone every year for the past 3 years and when I encounter a problem I'm lied to and told there is nothing I can do about it. I'll be scheduling another appointment soon in hopes I get a different employee that will actually help me.

What I want to know is, is there a fix to this?
When I take videos it captures the rattling noises ruining the video.

I have nothing to add except my extreme frustration with Apple. Had I known this issue, I wouldn't have bought the phone.

I wouldn't have imagined that the buttons on my kids toys to be better designed/assembled than on a $900 phone.

I'll book an appointment with the folks at genius bar to see what they have to say, but I'm not expecting much.

My volume buttons are firm, no rattle. Hopefully the power button rattle is a side effect of its increased durability if they changed it. My 4S has absolutely no rattle with 2 years of use.

I heard the most likely to fail part was the home button in the 5. Seeing how it was changed in the 5S, I'm sure it underwent a lot of attention to make it more reliable. Maybe the power switch did too. I wonder if it was designed to be loose to deal with temperature changes. I will try it at the lowest operating temperature and see if it stops shaking.

Otherwise it seems to be a manufacturing issue. I'm alright with it being loose if it's more durable, but they took a step backwards if this was overlooked, especially considering they have already been making the 5 for an additional year. . .

I will report back if the ND temperatures stop the problem.

I'd like to also add that I have had two devices with rattling sleep/wake buttons. The first one I replaced due to a faulty display and I am currently in possesion of the second one. This truly is a frustrating issue as it affects the audio portion of video recording quality.

Guys im since day one on the 5S. Buyed it direct from Apple Store Germany... I tried out every color and opened up only sealed brandnew units! I sadly turned back 11 (yes, fkn ELEVEN!!!) units due to all kinds of problems, from scrtches to loose uneven fitted front panel parts, faulty pixels and MOST of them due to yellow tint on the LCD Display... And ALL of them had also the loose Buttons, on some even the volume Buttons are loose... The last replacements have all the uneven yellow and white screen Problem just like reported on the iPad air overhere: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5515024?tstart=90

Here is my topic to the yellow tint problem, please share and check your phones for this! Feel free to post it here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5584022?answerId=23926517022#23926517022

Im now on a Point to say, its impossible to get a Perfect device that Apple is Presenting so proudly on their Website etc...

But i can tell you, i will swap for new ones till the bitter end! I paid a load of money cash on spot and have the Right to get a fault free iphone 5S!

The 5/5S are really a faulty design i guess, SAD APPLE SAD!

I am in Korea. There is no physical Apple store, everything is done online. I am on my 5th replacement. The rattling noise is my issue. I have been sent replacements over and over again. The Apple Care is amazing here though. They send replacement phones than someone comes and picks up the old phone the next day so I am never without an iPhone.

However on my last call I was sent to tech support, explained my problem and was asked to do a diagnostics test. The guy said everything is fine. I told hime this was a hardware issue, not software. He gave me a case number and I was reverted back to AppleCare.

If you have this problem, ask for a case number so when the issue is resolved, they have your issue on record. Replacements should be easier now,
