iPhone 5s Power Button Loose/Rattling Noise

Today I had scheduled a Genius Bar appointment for my loose rattling power button. I can hear it rattle when I record video and move around, the video even records the sound and it interferes with the video. It is also bothersome, in general, to have a rattling noise on my phone. The "genius" had me unlock the phone (since I have a passcode/fingerprint I.D) and he took it to the back to take a look at it, came back and said there's nothing wrong and that it's the "vibrating motor." Yeah, sure. I place my finger on the power button and move my phone and it has 0 rattling, when I let go it rattles like a maraca. I then asked him if he could open it and try and fix it for me, and he told me that he had just opened it and everything checked out fine. Another lie, he gave me my phone back unlocked and into my settings. If he opened it it would have been turned off, and on again which would request my passcode which he doesn't have. My previous iPhone 3/4S/5 has never done this and I see it as a simple fix if they were to really open it. I have fully purchased a new iPhone every year for the past 3 years and when I encounter a problem I'm lied to and told there is nothing I can do about it. I'll be scheduling another appointment soon in hopes I get a different employee that will actually help me.

What I want to know is, is there a fix to this?
When I take videos it captures the rattling noises ruining the video.

Not true at all. The rattle causes the silent mode to be very noisy and not silent. This is the biggest problem. If you're in a meeting or another scenario where silence is expected, the phone is not silent because the vibration (which would otherwise be almost silent) causes the button to rattle loudly. This is a significant defect and Apple needs to address it without further delay.

Lucifer_Angel, what do you mean no one makes a video shaking there phone?.. Clearly driving and videoing with the Iphone with apps designed to do just that will cause some shaking, if you think that everyone stands perfectly still while videoing or only video with the phone in there hand then you are being narrow minded..and calling people idots for having there phones shake when videoing????

Just because you accept a fault because it has only just been noticed by YOU does not mean that others should just accept it aswell..

As for it being the same as other phones that is also total BS! ALL of my previous Iphones have not had rattling lose fitting, poorly manufactured buttons.

i did not accept the default, i return it back and waiting my money, i know what you mean and how it made me so angry when i recived and change 4 iphone and all same problem.

but what you can do in such a case? you can just accept it and enjoy it or just return it and by samsung s4.

writing here, make no sense, just we are making our selves sad and angry from inside.

Apple will never care about this rattle thing, just as one man in apple told me, keep it and enjoy it. its world wide problem, you are not the one and not the last.

So all without a sense what we write, because we all know much of iphone 5s rattle, not all, i found 3 which don't rattle at all, solid power, but i don't want this iphone anymore.

thats what i mean, you can just keep it and enjoy or return.

No OFFENSE, simply we are fighting for nothing 😟

If you want to fix the power button completely with the leather case, you could try putting a tiny bit of felt pads inside the case where the power button is. You have to cut it supersmall, and probably trim it shorter with a scissor. It worked perfect for me, so now my powerbutton is firmer and the rattle is gone. I'm happy with the result. and I love the case.

Called Apple yesterday. They are mailing me a box to ship my phone out. I couldn't handle it anymore. I also noticed that my home button was becoming loose as well. When slight pressure was applied I could feel that something was loose. It's such a shame that these phones are falling apart. I love how Apple is completely ignoring this. They are a joke. The phone is so cheaply made to be so expensive. If the issues are not resolved on my replacement or whatever they send me, then I'm simply going to ask for a refund. There's no excuse for this.
