ios 7 proximity sensor not working

Since upgrading to IOS 7 on my Iphone 4s there seems to be problems with the proximity sensor. Taking calls with handset no longer locks the screen and contact with face inadvertently presses keypad numbers resulting in dial tomes mid call. Never had this issue with IOS 6. Is there a setting I can change to rectify this or will I need to wait for next update of IO7 and the problem is sorted.

I have been following up relentlessly with apple for a solution to this for past two months. They have replaced the phone twice with a new apple iPhone 4. The issue is there in every single one of then. The Apple Care centre guys told that the issue is not with the iPhone 4 hardware but with iOS 7.

The call centre guys are downright rude now. They told me last week that this can not be solved as their engineering team in US did not agree with the complaint. Thereafter the senior technical advisor disconnected the call.

Same here. Cannot be hardware since I used my iPhone 4 for a long time without any issue. The problem happened just after upgrading to iOS 7. I loved the design but my prox sensor stopped working after the upgrade. I have tried everything to downgrade to iOS 6, but sadly Apple does not offer this possibility (I really don't understand why I don't have the freedom to choose which iOS works better in my phone!). Please Apple, let us downgrade and the problem for most of us will be solved!

No they don't. I have been using my iPhone 4 for past 1 year without any such issue. It's only after we upgraded to iOS 7 that we face an issue. This has been confirmed by the Apple Service Centre Manager to me personally and this is what he told the Apple Senior Technical Advisor on the phone too.

I am in touch with Apple Marketing head to get this issue solved probably by getting my money back since the phone is still in warranty.

I solved the problem....

Went to the Vodafone Store and bought myself a brand new Galaxy S5 and Tab.

Gave the crappy iPhone to my son who uses it as and iPod.

I still love my MacBook and iMac! They're still better than anything else on the market!! But the phones are nothing special anymore! They haven't been innovative since the iPhone4. The S5 is special because it's a new experience working with Android. Overall the phone isn't all that better.

But the biggest reason for not wanting Apple anymore is the simple reason Apple doesn't seem to give a s&@t about their customers. Crappy phones, an Apple TV that doesn't support the most used codec in th world, and a customerservice that deletes all posts from their supportforum that are addressing the problems!
