ios 7 proximity sensor not working

Since upgrading to IOS 7 on my Iphone 4s there seems to be problems with the proximity sensor. Taking calls with handset no longer locks the screen and contact with face inadvertently presses keypad numbers resulting in dial tomes mid call. Never had this issue with IOS 6. Is there a setting I can change to rectify this or will I need to wait for next update of IO7 and the problem is sorted.

I'm sorry you didn't get my point. 200 million people have updated so far. If it was a problem with i OS 7 you would see tens of thousands of posts about it. There are a few dozen. It's unfortunate, but it is not an iOS 7 problem generally, and if you are planning to wait for a fix to iOS 7 for what is not a generic defect you have a very long wait. Try the suggestions in this thread that have fixed it for other users, and if none of them resolve it take it to an Apple store.

I have been having the same problem,

I keep putting the phone on loudspeaker, dialling numbers or making a facetime call when using the phone,

I made or recieved 58 calls today and this happened on nearly all of them, its driving me nuts.

Just like a previous poster, it starts off ok but then the screen reactivates while I am still on the call and then its beep beep beep beep beep as I dial with my cheek.....

Tried a few resets, also re set all settings just now, hope this sorts it!

# temporary solution of this bug (on ios 7)

when you receive call, slide "slide to answer" and wait 1~2 second.

and move your phone to near your ear. and receive call.

# appear again this bug

1. sleep your phone

2. when you get a phone call from

3. slide "slide to answer" and quickly move your phone to near your ear (almost sametime do that)

or

3. lap proximity sensor by finger and slide "slide to answer"

you lap proximity sensor and calling, but screen on and can touch it.

Same problem for me and my wife. Both have new 4s iPhones that were just replaced a month ago at apple store due to defective sleep button on one and screen problems on another. Both phones worked fine on ios 6.1.3. Since ios 7 every call gets messed up by proximity sensor not working. Actually just happened as I got a call in the middle of typing this post! Placed someone on hold with my ear. Have tried above solutions with no success. Seems like this should be an easy fix for apple. If the settings were changed they just need to revert to ios 6 settings. Hope to see this resolved soon. Very annoying
