AirPlay with AirServer connectivity problem

Updated to IOS 7 and now I am having mirroring issues with AirServer. I have been using AirServer for approximately 6 weeks teaching in a 7th grade Math classroom. I connect and disconnect multiple times per class period and never had a problem until I updated my iPad to IOS 7 last week. Now, after 3 or 4 connect/disconnects, the next time I attempt to connect, it will not mirror the iPad. I have to hard reset the iPad to get it to work again. The iPad appears to be connected but everything on the iPad slows down considerably and AirPlay does not start on the computer. I reproduced the same exact problem on an iPad Mini that also has been updated to IOS 7. Also, I have the latest version of AirServer on the computer. I had absolutely no connectivity problems prior to upgrading to IOS 7. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have updates my IPad to iOS 7.0.3 and I've come to the conclusion that AirServer 1.9.1 and higher is not working anymore. I can see the AirServer and can connect, but nothing happens, mirroring does not work.

We have multiple VLAN's and use Ubuntu and Avahi and it worked perfect untill iOS 7.

I tested everything I can and found out, that AirServer 1.1.8 is still sort of working, in our environment.

What I also found out, is that iOS 7.0.3 and AirServer 1.9.1 and higher does work within the same subnet.

So what changes did Apple make? Because AirServer was sort of working with AirServer 1.9.1 after the first iOS 7 update.

For the people who have problems with auto-lock, as a workaround did you try to set autolock to never?

Same issue on iPhone.

When I start AirServer (or login to my account with it set for startup at login), I get the message to activate AirServer. I do. I get the "Activation Successful" message, but it sometimes repeats 2-3 times (either asking for activation or putatively acknowledging success). Connections either never make or drop repeatedly. Mac OS X 10.7.5, iOS 7.0.2 (iPhone 5). Sometimes iPhone locks screen by itself while trying to connect. Have removed all AirServer components and reinstalled with same behavior, so it appears to be a mirroring issue with iOS.

Come on Apple...it has been a month. Can you not fix this for the sake of the education and the business that is depending upon you? My school has iPads in every single classroom, and has spent endless resources making this happen. Now we have this bug that is interrupting the learning of over 850 students on a daily basis? Seriously? Can't get it fixed in over a month's time? Not a good sign...you are better than this!

Really Wendy? Who runs IT in your school? They deployed iOS to every single device in every single classroom without testing to see if critical software was compatible? Who is really responsible for interrupting the education of 850 students on a daily basis? :-)

I get you're upset, but come on. I and others have already posted that it's a known issue that has been reported. Some have already found a workaround. Let's please not turn this into another ranting thread like so many others. I beg you.

Try the solution sgnagni proposed. If it works, pass it on to your colleagues so those kids can get learning again!

Really Alfred? I don't see that you posted this as a known issue. I'm pretty sure that I posted this as a known issue. You simply Googled the issue and found my thread and AirServer's Facebook page. There is no viable workaround. It IS, IN FACT, a bug in iOS 7 that has not been fixed. It is affecting users who actually try to use the iPad to do something other than troll the web.

What ceb? I can only assume you are defending a fellow teacher, though I think you're a bit misguided and displacing your anger in the wrong direction.

If you saw Airserver's post, you certainly made no mention of it. You posted a request for help to which I provided a reply with information that Airplay already knows it is an issue. Clearly YOU knew about it, but that helped no one - including you. The issue being "known" is about Apple and Airserver and this is to whom I was referring. The important thing for everyone who uses Airplay mirroring and Airserver in particular is that both Apple and the Airserver Devs know about it and are doing something to fix it.

And I certainly did not dispute it was an iOS problem. In fact, I reposted Airserver's request to report it to Apple which I did to increase its visibility and hopefully get a bump in priority. I hope you did as well.

And just so you know, I did NOT Google and find your thread. I actively try to answer as many requests for help here as I can in the limited time I have to do so. Just know people here do care and want to help. Me anyway. I don't want to speak for everyone.

Finally, it seems you have not seen that sgnagni claims to have found a temporary solution to the issue. You can see above that it is working for him/her now after turning on IPV6 support. Give it a try. It may work for you too.
