After upgrading to IOS 7 back camera is not working only get a black screen, swithing to front camera it worlks once then freezes

Same problem here. We have 3 iPads and they all have none funtional cameras. This started with ios 7 update. New update 7.0.3 did not fix it. Reseting the ipad did not fix it. Please fix your firmware Apple. Apple can you hear us? When are you going to fix your mess?

I'm having the same problem here. Just realised this when I tried to FaceTime with my family. It was fine a few weeks ago so I'm certain this is not a hardware issue. This is a very sloppy mistake by Apple as this has enormous impact on people relying on iPads for FaceTime. Is anyone at Apple looking into this?

I'm having the same problem with my iPad. If apple don't want to solve this issue I will have to start buying Samsung products instead...

I got my hopes up when 7.0.4 came out; alas, still no joy. Camera hangs and is still black.

Apple, pretty please, can you give us back our camera?

I have had the issue with my iPad even before 7. They told me to wipe it and reload everything manually. Very frustrating and still didn't work since not long later it happened again. It's under warranty luckily but I don't think it's the device.

That is exactly my problem too. I only noticed the same thing when I updated to iOS 7.0.3. When I tapped on the HDR On/Off, the problem occured and I tried to reset the phone by pressing and holding the power button and home button simultaneously til the apple logo appeared. At first, doing this way fixed the rear camera issue but yesterday until today I have no luck. I just updated to iOS 7.0.4, I was hoping that this update will fix the issue but I was wrong. I have the same issue even with the latest update. Apple, wake up! I believe it has been an issue since you released iOS 7. Solve this mess, IMMEDIATELY!

UPDATE:

After installing Camera Awesome on my phone and tested it, the camera works fine so the default camera app. Nice!

Nothing of the above has worked for me. The error is obviously caused by the update. It is so unacceptable that Apple is not addressing the issue. They could at least acknowledge it at let us know that a solution is in the works.

Is installing Camera Awesome working for others? Others who still have the problem?

Camera Awesome just brings up black camera screen and crashes after I take a pic. Apple is about to discontinue the iPad 2 so I would not hold my breath then solving this. We'll all be camera-less in a month or 2.

I'm not in warranty but if someone is and can open a ticket with Apple, we can all send our diagnostic info to Apple directly by typing URL "diags://" in Safari using that ticket number - Apple might get the message.

Talked to Apple Support and they recommended to reset to factory settings via a connection to a computer. Will try tonight and see, if it helps..

It worked!

You have to connect your iPad to a computer, back it up and reset to factory settings from there - not form the iPad itself!

The reset worked for me. Since I had backed up the IPAD last week, I didn't have a problem with the re-install.

I have completely wiped it, it fixes it but the problem returns.

I tried 2 resets. One without and one with wiping data but still Camera is black and not responding. That's another hour I'll never get back!

I have the same problem Ipad2 upgraded to IOS7 and my front camera doesn't work.

I tried resetting each way you mentioned any nothing.

Are there any other solutions to this problem?
