I have contacted Apple about this topic and have got very good and helpfull support. I recommend that you contact your nearest Apple-store / center or Apple's online support, and explain what happen after upgrading to IOS 7. Apple are very proud of their products and want their customers to be happy and satiesfied. Therefore I am sure that they will hjelp you the same way they hjelped me. Thank you Apple.

I got the exact problem in my iPad 4 which is upgraded to iOS 7. I called AppleCare and was requested to do all the reboot and restart including factory reset from MacBook but problem still exists. Finally, I booked the Genius Bar and confirmed by the apple expert it is a hardware issue and replaced with a new one. Now everything restored after upgraded to 7.0.4 and camera is back to normal.

Totally agreed with you pesticidal.

Actually, i gave a remark to Applecare to follow-up whether it is a iOS issue or not as i also suspect it is not a h/w issue.


Anyway, it really works after replacing another iPad. May be different batches of iPad are using different model of the camera that iOS 7 does not support all well.

Dear Apple,


We demand a fix or at least an option to downgrade our equipments to iOS 6.x.x . Because we had a WORKING ipad/iphone and just after upgrading with your firmware it doesn't work anymore. I believe it's fair that you give us a solution even if we are not covered by the warranty time, remember it was you... launching a software supposedly compatible with our hardware and now you want us to buy a new one. We trusted you, don't dissapoint us.

This issue REALLY needs to be resolved..my camera is still not working since oct after updating it and I keep hoping someone here has a solution..I called Apple support and all they did was had me restart and reboot which i've done so many times. I am not trying to buy another phone without warranty when it was working fine before! Can some genius find the solution since Apple will wait after the holiday season when everyone has to be a new phone!

Hi Everyone with the same camera problem. I think its disgusting what Apple are trying to do to we minions as they like to think of us. Or customers as I like to think of us. hey keep telling us that our guarantee or warranty has run out so they are not responsible if something, through no fault of our own, goes wrong with our Iphone. Now I am no lawyer, but as fr as I can see, if we go armed with the "Sale of Goods Act" to the Apple Geniuses, I very much think we will have a case.

My advise is read that through thoroughly. They have made it pretty easy to understand. It says that for up to six years you could still have rights. Even if your warranty has expired. I am going into the Apple store to see the "Geniuses" on Monday 09/12/13. I will report back on what they say.

I went to visit Apple today. Again, no luck. The best they would offer is to replace my iPad2 for CAD$250 which could not be used as credit towards a new model. Genius told me that I could not blame Apple because of the user agreement I agreed to. I am completely disappointed in the company that, in my book, was tops in user experience.
