After upgrading to IOS 7 back camera is not working only get a black screen, swithing to front camera it worlks once then freezes

same problem with iphone 4s, back camera is not working... disappointted in apple. reset it 10 times, same thing

This problem is very disturbing. I tried to downgrade to 6.1.3 but no success. Itunes didn't allow me. There should be a workaround instead of restarting anytime(Restarting also doesn't work %100). Maybe it would also be nice to hear this will be solved in the next IOS release.

Does anyone know wheather there is a ticket about this issue?

I called them again. Wiped it completely. Still fails. They are replacing it today. Sounds like they just have a ****** product. If I didn't have warranty I would be getting another type of tablet.

Add me to the list of folks whose front facing camera is not working after the update - iPad 4th generation.

The replacement offer I got only applied to another iPad2 (same as I currently have). How can you be getting a diifferent model?

I had an iPad 4 or 5. The newest before the new air. It was junk from day one. The new one today worked great. Even restored it from my old backup. It's the hardware. They make junk.

I will never buy another Apple product again I contacted Apple weeks ago about the iSight camera front and back are cheap **** and Apple are not doing anything about it at all they deserve to go bust

I am having the same problem on my Iphone 5 which is out of warranty. It was working perfectly fine yesterday and then today randomly the back camera does not work but hte front does. If i try to switch to the back camera it freezes on me.

My contract is nearly up and due to the fact that Apple is taking no responsibility for this I will NOT be buying a new iPhone but will instead go with the GalaxyS4.

My front-facing camera stopped working a few weeks ago. I brought mine to the Apple Store and they ran a few diagnostics then replaced it. It was still under warranty (not sure if they would have replaced it had the warranty expired). 4th Gen iPad, 16GB, Wifi.

I have had this problem since the IOS 7 upgrade and have submitted the problem to Apple and have been watching the discussions. I am so completely disappointed with Apple that instead of purchasing another Ipad to use at work, I purchased a Surface. For me, an person that truly has had a long standing dislike for Microsoft and a close relationship with Apple since the mid 1980's, it took some real "lack of action" on Apple's part to drive me away. Giving my Ipad away to the grandkids, who don't like having a camera, and replacing that unit with a different product like and android or another Surface.

WORKAROUND FOUND ! Download and install "Awesome Camera" app and take a picture with that app. After 1-2 seconds of standby, it will work. Then you can go back to default Camera app which would work again.Please let me know 😉

This guy is posting the same in every board related to this bug. I'm pretty sure he works for the "Awesome Camera" team or something and is trying to get downloads...

I got an ipad2 16GB a year ago. Tonight, I just upgraded to iOS7.0.4 and the camera works great!

It's somewhat difficult that an Italian guy works for an app written by a non Italian developer. Just struggling without solution many days and want to share the workaround which worked for me. By the way , using a different camera app may solve the problem too .
