iOS 7 USB Vehicle Loses last played location

I plug my phone into my vehicle via USB plug. I can control my iPhone using my vehicle controls. Previous to iOS7 I would turn my car off and when I started it back up it started playing the music from where I left off. After the update to iOS7 it doesn't remember where I last was and starts back at the first song "alphabetically" in my music library.

For example. I start a playlist and when I unplug and plug back in, it doesn't remember that I was 3 songs into my playlist and starts with the first song in my entire library. This is frustrating because every time I start my car I have to select the playlist I want to play all over again. Previous to iOS7, it knew I was playing a playlist and it stayed in my playlist and started off exactly where I left off (in the middle of a song if that is where I was).

I am aggravated, and the only solution I can come up with is to delete all my playlists and delete all songs from my phone and only put the songs on my phone that I want to play. This really isn't a good solution because it will still start over on the same song every time I start the car.

We had an update this morning to fix the bug for bypassing lock screen, and I was hoping there would be a bug fix for this very annoying inconvenience as well but there wasn't. I have not seen anyone else complaining about this.

This makes me wonder if the position memory has been moved from some global location into the local memory of the Music app as part of adapting to the new multitasking model. That could explain why the mere lapse of time would increase the likelihood of the position being forgotten.

"i also tried via the aux cable which uses head phone jack the same thing happens."

What do you mean, exactly?

With the USB issue, whatever is in Now Playing disappears as soon as the USB is plugged in or unplugged from the car stereo. Are you saying the same thing happens when you plug in headphones? That if you have something paused in Now Playing, plug in headphones, and then what's in Now Playing goes away? And that if you're playing something and unplug your headphones, what's in Now Playing goes away?

Also, what do you mean by "if i press the button twice and player comes up, im good it plays from where it stopped, but if i press the iphone button twice an player is gone"? What buttons are you talking about?

And thanks, StormdriverOne.

Ok my phone is locked, before with ios6 you could use your button (the one at the bottom under your screen, double press and music player comes up(skip, play pause) now u have to slide up to bring the player, the only time the player will come up the old way with the double press of the button, is if tue player was already playing, and you stopped it do take a call, then u doule press the button n press play.

Aux is another way i can plug any devices through the head phone jack in my car.

Hope this helps!

I'm still not following. I don't know of anywhere in iOS 7 where double pressing the home button will bring up the music player controls.

And yes, I'm aware of aux jacks, but to the iPhone, with the exception of headphones with controls on them (like the headphones that come with the iPhone), anything plugged into the headphone jack is the same. That is, plugging in normal headphones will have the same effect as plugging into an aux jack.

Regardless of all of that, however, yes, definitely contact Apple.

Oh you are correct i got so used to press twice from ios6 i never thought of or noticed it was only needed once. I miss being able to start the music that way, seems if the player isnt started i have to slide up and of course i am back on the main library so i still have to unlock it and choose my song lol ah the humanity. Im about to install ios6 back! :)

I also have this problem, I put my muisc on shuffle via songs. I plug it into my usb sony car radio and it starts playing the first alphabetical song. The only way I can overcome this is by plugging it in first, then setting shuffle in the songs bit. But then if I try to skip a song on my radio, it starts to play the first album. I am losing patience with apple, never had these issues before upgrading to ios7.

Apple released and update today 7.0.3 and the release notes didn't say anything about fixing a bug with the Music App. I am going to test it as soon as I am done with this update, but I am not feeling so lucky because the release notes didn't say anything. How could they release bug fixes and not fix the music app when there are clearly a lot of people having issues and complaining?

So disappointed. I went to the car, plugged my phone into USB. Selected playlist from my car stereo, put it on shuffle and it played. I skipped a few songs. Unplugged my phone from USB, plugged it back in and it forgot I was in the playlist and started off with the first song alphabetically. So Apple released new features and improvments with cosmetics but they didn't fix what they broke in the initial release??? So disappointed!!!
