It's amazing how this thread drags on, and nobody from Apple seems to care about it. Not even a statement. We are completely left alone with our problem. I also wrote Tech Support, but of course there was no reply on this subject either. They are starting to leave us with a pretty bad impression, reading through all those posts.

They will never comment becuase they want you - where they want you. On iOS7. Not to have any choice on what you run on the device your purchased.

I have always supported and enjoyed Apple products but not so much these past few years. Apple has turned into the evil empire it originally mocked. Seriously, you should be aware that Apple has deleted probably half the posts on this thread ( and most any thread that about any major problem with customers and there products) so its much worse than you think. Apple regularly sensors by deletion most any opinions that differ from theres or any that make Apple just plan look bad. The Truth does not matter when your in control and thats why Apple runs this forum in the first place!

Remember Apples George Orwellian warning when it started ? Turns out it was the future Apple they were warning us all about in that commercial. Big brother is alive and well and remember, he knows what's best for you!

There word is "censors" not "sensors". Posts are deleted from the forums when they are:

  1. Reported by other users
  2. Do not meet the Terms of Use (you did read them before accepting them, didn't you?)

Anyone who has spend more than a few minutes on this site can easily attest that Apple does not delete "most any opinions that differ from theres [sic] or any that make Apple just plan look bad".

This forum is for technical support, not whining, and Apple has every legal and ethical right to control its contents. If your purpose in posting is to complain and whine, you have any number of other options on the internet to do so.

We ARE here trying to get support on an important issue.

As Apple are failing to provide that support or any feedback at all on why they won't listen to us or even tell us why their policy is to push unwanted data to our devices without our consent, we as customers have no choice but to make our feelings felt on the issue. This is done so that Apple will know that their customers are not happy and "maybe" actually take some notice.

At present emails to support are ignored and support tickets are closed so it does appear that they are aware of this "Technical Support" issue and are choosing to ignore it.
Actually from experience I know for a fact that this happens with a lot of "Technical Support" issues

We could always do as you suggest and make all our feelings about this "Technical Support" issue and the lack of support we are receiving on it or the ethics of ignoring the wishes and rights of customers in a dark little corner of the internet where Apple doesn't have to see them.

We are doing it here on the Apple forum because:

- Apple need to know there is a "Technical Support" issue regarding pushed data not being able to be removed.

- Apple need to know that their "Technical Support" team are not responding to customers on this issue

- Apple need to know that this lack of support or explanation is seriously harming their reputation as a company.

- Apple need to know that simply ignoring the issue won't make those who are affected go away or give up.

- Apple need to know that previously loyal customers are becoming very angry and are turning away from their products.

And most importantly Apple need to know how many people are affected by this "Technical Support" issue and and how angry they are. The only way they will find that out is if all those people complain (aka whining)

So if we want to get this information direct to Apple then strangely enough an Apple forum IS the right place.

No, it actually isn't.

This is: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

This...does absolutely nothing. Probably is not even monitored by a human. I spoke to Apple support DIRECTLY on this issue for 20 minutes a few weeks back and they refuse to even acknowledge it as an issue. At all.

So please spare us the lectures on what we should or should not do within these forums. If calling the company directly and getting completely shut out doesn't work...the forums are the only avenue left.

Bottom line - Apple is censoring and removing info at will on this issue to ensure that :

1. They look good at all costs

2. And - they get iOS7 on your device - at all costs - including a clear denial that such an "issue" even exists.

In short - give up. Block all iDevices at the router level and live with it. Or update to iOS7 at your peril and live with that.

The black hole affectionately known by the Apple fan.... as the "feedback" page.

Apart from the fact that this is a technical issue that actually needs to be fixed rather than a comment on look and feel or some feature we would like to see, most if not all of us have already done that.

Feedback is ignored, no comment from Apple, no resolutions, nothing.

The forum is firstly about asking other users how to fix an issue which Apple is also apparently ignoring but it also serves to let people who also have the same issue know that there are others out there experiencing the same problems, as in "support group"

It is a place where people ask questions, seek workarounds or fixes and express their concerns in a "public" space where Apple can see it which is where an issue of this nature should be.

Generally feedback forms are less about getting feedback than they are about letting unhappy customers think they have had their say in the hope that they will then quietly go away.

Right at this minute is the time to try and block the site mesu.apple.com on your router as suggested earlier. iOS 7.0.4 has just been rolled out and my other memory has just shot down by 2 Gb. This is borne by the Diagnostics & Usage error log showing that the earlier iOS 7 download has been deleted and cleaned up.

I've blocked this site and I guess it will only be a matter of time to see if this actually works.

I followed the instructions in an earlier post about loading my phone with data. When IOS 7.0.4 came rolling out, there was no room for it and, IOS 7.0.3 was deleted. Presto! 2.5 gigs of space suddenly available. I loaded it up with some movies that I can easily delete if I need the space. At least now the space is mine to do as I please and there is no uninvited update sitting there to accidentally get installed. I'm also being careful about updating apps that work well in 6, but have been updated for 7.

Sticking with IOS 6 for now.
