charging iphone since ios7

Has anyone experienced problems charging their phone since the ios7 software upgrade?

Even the cable my iphone came with does not charge it - luckily I bought a spare cable off ebay - one that is not apple genuine and this is the only one that works! Well it charges it but doesn't work 100% as it gets to 100% charged but never says battery full - just wants to keep charging it. I have 3 genuine iphone 5 cables that won't charge my phone now and only this one cable will charge it 😟 Anyone have any suggestions??

Also when you select an image for wallpaper - it comes up enlarged - it says to 'move and scale' but you can only make the image bigger you can't decrease it so you can actually see it all on the screen - you only get a portion of the picture now - anyone else finding this?

Other than this I think ios7 is really good 😉

Well you may have managed to get my post deleted

modular747 has no power to get posts deleted. Only the Hosts can do that. They do so when a post is in violation of the terms of use. If it was your post that was removed for cause, you will have received an email explaining your error. If your post was removed because it was a reply to a post that was removed for cause, you will receive no notification. Note that if you have repoeated posts deleted for the same reason, you risk being banned.

Best of luck.

"Nancy" aka modular747 the Apple forum bully couldn't take it as good as she could give so she immediately clicked the little report this button. Meg, I don't know if you're one of her alter egos and I honestly don't care. But this person has been belittling, badgering, insulting and downright harassing people, all which is in contrast to the forum rules, without as much as slap on the wrist. Do I risk being banned from a supposed-to-be Apple support forum, being overrun by Fan Boys, with zero technical knowledge, who believe that every fault report or question asked is someone trying to bash the brand and because I exposed her for the mean condescending person she is? We’ll then let the ban hammer fall, since this is not the type of company I like to keep!

More pathetic goading and infantile name calling from a classic forum troll. Been traveling and never saw your post. I can only imagine the deluded drivel that got the hosts to delete it - they've taken a wide birth here.

I started this whole discussion, and have tuned off the notifications form it as it has deteriorated to an exchange of egos and insults that bore me and don't help to solve the problems I have had. too bad that people can not just post anything directly reklated to "try this", maybe you have to..." , "check if this helps ", go to sore and have them..", I did this and it..."

Sorry to have provided a platform for diatribe vs. assistance

Not only did you not start this discussion (SunShark did), that was your very first post in this thread. Maybe you're lost, OTOH, keeping trace of multiple identities can be a b****.

My girlfriend just upgraded a few days ago and her Iphone and it stopped charging. Since I am not an Apple person even though I loved my Apple II, I don't know what I'm doing with it. I think it is a 4S. What I do know she bought the phone in July 2013 and everything is origanal. No 3rd party chargers, etc that I have read here. There is not "At least 5 completely different and conflicting complaints are in this thread:" as stated by a ...cough...cough expert. There is 1 complaint with 5 or so possibilities throwed around as a possible cause. The 1 complaint is My phone doesn't charge since an upgrade. How can I fix it and getting a new phone when the upgrade broke it IS NOT A FIX unless Apple gives the phone for free weither phone is in or out of warrenty. The expert gave a list (page 9) of things to try that sounds good and I will try them. Was a shame it was so hard to find that list. Here is that list pasted.

Try these steps as needed

1. Reset phone (no data loss): Press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.

2. Blow out debris from the Lightning dock on the phone with canned, compressed gas (NEVER by mouth)

3. Restore iOS in iTunes, also restoring a backup (no data loss)

4. Restore iOS in iTunes as a new phone, without using a backup.

iTunes: Restoring iOS software

5. Replace phone, your charging circuit is fried.

Hey guys. Im having the same issue here. Running iOS 7.0.4 (since it was released) and just a couple of days ago i also got that error. What?!

My phone is a black iP5 32GB and it's running iOS 7.0.4 and the phone IS NOT jailbroken. I'm using the original Apple cable that came with the phone. The phone was NEW when i bought it.

I cleaned the lightning port on the phone and still get the error. Many say that dirt gather there and so on but no, that's not the issue here.

The phone never fell on the ground. No kind of damage or anything. I am very delicate with it and specially with the lightning cable and i never plug/unplug it in any bad manner or so. I always grab it by the plastic connector and do it carefully.

Can anyone here give me atleast a clue on what's going on? I am a 100% LEGITIMATE user and this thing really started to bother me now. I have no clue why this wasn't happening before while i was running iOS 7.0 and then 7.0.2 and 7.0.3. It just started happening since 7.0.4.

What's even more wired is that the error didn't show up untill a couple of days ago (1st of JAN 2014 i guess). I'm running 7.0.4 sice its been released "last year" and had NO problems (except the slow animations which Apple is taking care of now in the new 7.1 beta 1 and beta 2. I'm patiently waiting for the GM release of 7.1 in March or so they say - hoping it will also adress this problem)

I know Apple started to tear down the fake lightning cables but c'mon Apple, i AM using YOUR cable. I also read that someone has at home 8 lightning cables made by Apple (he has a big family i guess) and he has the same issue with all 8 cables. It just can't be that all of them are broken down right?

People having common sense including me are going in the direction that this is just a software glitch/bug in the iOS 7 itself?! Can anyone here confirm this?? Some here have problems with this message poping up even if the phone is not connected to anything. It has to be a software bug!

What's going on here? Any ideas?

Cheers from Slovenia,

Alex

I agree that modular747 is one of those "I'm so technologically advanced I must bring down everyone who could possibly ask for help wihtout actually helping them" kind of losers. I have been having the same charging issue. After some research I've discovered that since the ios7 update (which I abhor), any charger that does not have a specific component (it was described as some kind of chip) will not charge your updated iphone. Charging cables with this component are MFI (made for i____) and will work with the update. It may be possible that your microsoft cables were made before they starting installing these chips. The chips of course are just another way for apple to limit its 3'rd party sellers and make more money, since the cables worked without issue prior to update. The fact that the third party cable works is surprising.

There is also a cumbersome way around the issue I found on google:

Plug the charger into the wall or the cable into your computer, and then plug the other end into your iPhone. Dismiss the warning. Unlock your iPhone and dismiss any warning. With the screen on, unplug the cable and then plug it back in again. Dismiss the warning. You should find that it charges now.

Atleast you have one functioning cable.
