Hello folks. Seem to be having fun here! 😉 I've just been having problems charging my iPhone 4 since this weekend's update to 7.0.3 Everything was fine and dandy before - Or if it had been slow last week then I hadn't noticed. The phone has really been struggling tonight - taking an hour at one point to charge just 15% where it would have been double that before. All in all it's taken 3 hours to charge from 23% to 99% which might be a luxury to some - but it's been a strain for me. There is definitely something up with this iOs!

First off, let me say I love my iphone. I don't want to offend a certain someone right from the start.

This went from one of the most annoying threads ever to really entertaining.

It's pretty easy to see there's a problem with battery charging after upgrading to the new IOS7.

I have the same issue with mine and it started immediately after upgrading.

Eventually it will come out that this was an issue and they will issue a fix.

Had a nearly normal two hour charge tonight after restarting the phone yesterday. Will see how it performs this week and report back.

I have had my phone for probably 6 or 7 months. under a year for sure. just last night, I couldn't charge it ANYWHERE, and it ended up working on my computer after several "USB device failed" messages. now, I can't get it to charge on anything. Always had an otter box, pone looks brand new, and I have seen A LOT of folks on here with the same issue. Hopefully apple will replace it, or it's just a bad chord. but I am phonless until I figure this out. totall ********.

I had that experience too after the iOS 7 upgrade. Left on my 4s on charge over night. Got up at 4.00 for a 5 day business trip with 30% charge on my phone. Thanks Apple.

I did complain to Apple support and got a new charger FOC.

It took 4 hours on support so may be it wasn't so FOC.

I just landed here researching the problem I have with my 5S not charging consistantly since IOS7 update. So, that I don't have to go through all of these pages, could you tell or a give a link that explains the steps to take to resolve the issue?

Just upgraded to iOS 7 on an ipad and am unable to charge with apple cables immediately following the upgrade. I googled the issue and came upon this discussion forum. After reading the posts and seeing that many people have the same issue I can only add one thing:

Maybe you can't keep tract of your alternate identities, or so self absorbed that you think everything here pertains to you, but I posted nothing addressed to you, and nothing "obtuse" to anyone. I was responding to a post that was both inconsistent and vague, seeking clarification.

Try to charge while you off your phone. It might help.

Oops! That's iPhone 5 -- not 5s. I'm now using iOS7.0.3.

I plug it in at night, the lightening bolt shows that it is charging, but when I get up in the morning, it's either barely charged or not at all. I have tried several different iPhone cords and chargers but it happens almost every time.

I read where you said that there was recommended proceedures to follow, but I didn't see what those were.

Just another note here from a charging victim: Right after the IOS7 upgrade, the iPhone 5 began to complain that factory OEM Apple cable was not genuine and might fail. However, a 3rd party cable worked for a while. It has deterioriated until it no longer charges at all. I used a jewler's loupe to inspect the charging port for lint or dirt, but it's clean.

I know it sees the cable because when I power down the phone, it senses the cable and forces the phone to power on - it has just disabled all charging.

After reading the entire thread, it seems that the best solution is to downgrade from IOS7 to IOS6.

(The charging graphics and indicators for IOS7 were horrendously poor anyway. Jobs is spinning right now).
