charging iphone since ios7

Has anyone experienced problems charging their phone since the ios7 software upgrade?

Even the cable my iphone came with does not charge it - luckily I bought a spare cable off ebay - one that is not apple genuine and this is the only one that works! Well it charges it but doesn't work 100% as it gets to 100% charged but never says battery full - just wants to keep charging it. I have 3 genuine iphone 5 cables that won't charge my phone now and only this one cable will charge it 😟 Anyone have any suggestions??

Also when you select an image for wallpaper - it comes up enlarged - it says to 'move and scale' but you can only make the image bigger you can't decrease it so you can actually see it all on the screen - you only get a portion of the picture now - anyone else finding this?

Other than this I think ios7 is really good 😉

Oops! That's iPhone 5 -- not 5s. I'm now using iOS7.0.3.

No problem. There are loads of people who "slip" and refer to their iPhone 5 as a 5s, right?

I read where you said that there was recommended proceedures to follow, but I didn't see what those were

Try these steps as needed

1. Reset phone (no data loss): Press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.

2. Blow out debris from the Lightning dock on the phone with canned, compressed gas (NEVER by mouth)

3. Restore iOS in iTunes, also restoring a backup (no data loss)

4. Restore iOS in iTunes as a new phone, without using a backup.

iTunes: Restoring iOS software

5. Replace phone, your charging circuit is fried.

Many share your frustration, Apple fans in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, have had similar problems.

Contributors to this thread in those countries have written to the relevent consumer bodies to complain about this issue.

Modular 747 kindly pointed out that this forum doesn't constitute a complaint to Apple.

To ensure that I could claim that I had notified Apple Inc of the problem, in support of my complaint, I contacted the help line.

My first call was handled in the UK. It took nearly an hour on the phone at the end of which they escalated it to US tech support. US tech support went through my complaint and put me on hold on three occasions to speak to supervisors.

After another long call they agreed to send me a new charger free of charge as a non-warranty gesture.

What was impressive was that the new charger dropped through by letter box the following morning.

I was very impressed with the speed of response when they decided to act.

come back Steve Jobs. How quickly your values have been forgotten.

Yes. Immediately after "upgrading," my battery, which used to last from about 7 a.m to 9 p.m. MIGHT last 3-4 hours if I don't use my phone.(!?!?) I have nothing running in the background- even turned off my locations, wifi. etc. Everything that anyone has suggested. Then, when it goes down to 5% or so, I plug it in to charge and it sometimes immediately jumps up to 26%, or once jumped up to 68%! I only use the charger that came with my phone. Then, at other times, it takes forever to charge back up to 100%.

I had planned to buy an ipad mini to take on an overseas trip, but I won't be doing so now. Any suggestions for a similar device? I want on that will let me text and email while I'm gone using the hotel wifi.

PattiA621 - I was having some of the same issue and it progressivly got worse. I took it to the Apple store. The diagnosis showed no hardward problems but flagged a software problem. They even wiped the drive and loaded a fresh copy of ios but that caused even more issues. After much testing, they finally decided to replace my phone and I haven't had a problem since.

As far as purchasing the mini iPad, I wouldn't let this issue deter you. This glitch seems to only be happening on upgrades and not new products.

I aslo had the same issue with IOS7 and the iPhone 5. The phone is less than 4 months old. I have one generic and one original USB data cable and one original charger. I had the iPhone conected to my PC via the generic cable while doing the IOS7 update. After the update the phone restarted and the generic cable no longer worked, very randomly I may add. My original cable has, more than once, refused to work. It simply does not charge the phone and gives no errors. When this happens I have to turn the phone on and off with the cable plugged in and it starts charging.

You are clueless. You are another internet tough guy who doesn't know what he is talking about, so pull your head out of your @##, slither up the basement steps, and have you mother make you a meatloaf sandwich because it is quite obvious you are hungry. Just reading your responses to everyone’s iOS7 issues makes me ill.

Back on topic. My Apple brand cables are not recognized by my phone initially as well. Restarting the phone is the only solution that works for me. Clearly an IOS 7 issue.

Another pathetic, useless loser who can't think his way out of the paper bag he lives in. Is it that you are incapable of anything but the same brain-dead, cliche insults, or are you compelled to project your own life on others?

Wow! I see what you've done here; you've substituted "fight" with "think" and omitted the word "wet". Clever. Original. Non-cliche. Pat yourself on the back, but careful, not too hard. What's a genius like yourself doing on forums providing uncompensated advice anyway? Surely this must be beneath you?
