iPhone 5s mic problem

People are saying they can not hear me clearly when I'm talking. I have tried speaker phone and the head set as well but it doesn't fix the issue... Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you resolve it or was it just an issue with the phone (I just got it yesterday)

Without going to much off topic there are probably two noise cancellation processes here. One that actively cancels noise on the earpiece when one is in a loud environment (felt as a faint pressure in one's ear) and the other noise cancellation which cancels out noise from the microphone so that the called person does not hear too much background noise.

I wonder which one is actually disabled when we make that change in the settings. Anyway, I enabled noise cancellation in the settings and with the tape I am all good for now until a real fix comes around.

Hi guys I have the same problem on my newly bought iPhone 5s. The microphone seems to be having a problem - although I speak into it the person on the other side of the call cannot hear it. It's too quiet to hear or rather there seems to be no sound. But when I speak into Siri it picks up. Even being five inches away from the phone it picks up. The problem started when I was lied on my bed from the seating position while talking a call. And then the person on the other side couldn't hear a word. And this has become a major problem to me. Any solutions other than pasting tapes or foil or whatever ? Is it a software failure ? APPLE please solve this issue. I've never had any problem with any of my other iPhones. Only the 5S. Please solve this issue immediately. Thank you.
