iphone 5s touch screen problem

I bought few days ago new Iphone 5s, and the touch screen isn't working very well. There are some points on the screen that don't respond to touch. what to do to fix it?

Try turning off documents and data in settings-> iCloud

If still no joy...

Reset all settings

Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.

This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

Settings > iTunes and App Store > Apple ID = Sign Out... Then Sign In using the preferred Apple ID.

I have/had the same problem. Brand new 5S, right hand edge of screen won't respond to touch. Most noticeable when playing Candy Crush - can't move right hand candies to the left. Also when browsing the web, some pop-up ads have the 'close' button to the right and I can't close them.

Took phone back to Apple, they replaced it immediately. Just tested new one at home and it is exactly the same.

Really not good enough.

The same thing happened to me. Initially the brand new 5s was working excellently fine. Until a certain point of time, I just realized that parts of the screen was not responding at all, and as mentioned by Gallando, it is most noticable when typing on the keyboard.

Most of the time, it was solved by closing all the apps and restarting the phone. But the problem will come back again after a while, and I need to restart again.

I bought the phone overseas and I am assigned in another country (which 5s is not even launched yet) for a few months. Pretty much impossible to get the phone checked by Genius.

Kinda stuck with this faulty iPhone. Very disappointed.

The same thing happened to me. First the brand new 5s was working excellently fine.after two weeks I realized that parts of the screen was not responding at all, exaclly the same area when I want to search for name in "CONTACT" app. or Mail app or Viber. I have reset my phone too many times also restore it as a new decive. THEY can not replace my mobile because I bought it in USA and at the moment Iam studying in Europe and they told me that I have to replace it in USA because in europe they don't have my model. It means that I have to wait couple of mounths with this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same issue here. Iphone 5s. Top corners need about 3 or 4 tries before responding. Not persistent. When it does work i can repeat many times but if i clock other place then come back to it 1out of 2 times ill have to try multiple times to get it to respond. It make the phone seem of lesser quality. This is a touch phone and if the bug is response than this is a show stopper bug. Apple should be fixing this. If they want to remain in business that is. But if they want to run the company to the ground then ignore us.

To let you know this is my first apple product. On my phone close to 1/8 to 1/16th of an inch on the edge of the screen it does not respond when I'm in the settings or when I delete a pic. It does respond when I'm on the home screen and maybe other thing, but mostly with settings and deleting pics. Is this natural or is there something wrong with it? Like I side in the title it's a iPhone 5s and I just got a few days ago.

My 5S is exactly the same issues and funnily enough same circumstances as Linkstah. The touch screen is poor mainly down the right side of the screen and a small bit in the top right corner.

I took my 5S to the apple store and they happily replaced it, but the replacement is identical in exactly the same place! It makes candy crushing hard! I contacted apple again and they said they would replace it again, but now I'm reluctant too as I think it will same again.

Both the guy in the store and the apple helpline havent come across this issue, which I find hard to believe.
