Wow you guys are ridiculous and this thread is hilarious I'm shocked a screenshot hasn't reached Reddit yet... not only has the solution been provided 4~ times in the thread, but you guys are so upset (some extremely upset) about a security process that is in place for your own protection, and a process that is standard protocol among every company (bank, email, etc). So threatening to go to another company doesn't matter because you'll face the same exact issue (probably worse to be honest). If companies didn't have security measures, think about how many upset people there would be because their email account was hacked into easily? And let's be completely honest here... how hard is it to remember a simple security question or the email used? I know it happens (that's how I got to this thread), but come on, it's our fault here guys. Don't be mad about something that's caused by our own stupidity. It's like going to McDonalds and forgetting to bring money then being upset when they tell you they won't accept the Home Depot gift card you have. Not the best analogy, but same stupidity.

Anyway, let's get to the solution as clearly provided in the post above mine, which knowing most will get ignored.

SOLUTION:

Short Version: Call Apple, they will send you link to reset your password.

(Yes, it really is as simple as that)

Long Version: Let me elaborate with more details for those that need it:

1. Go here to this link: Get support now

2. Click iCloud

3. Click Forgotten Apple ID Security Questions

4. Click No thanks. Continue

5. Click Schedule a Call

6. Enter Serial Number (for any Apple product)

7. Pick time you want them to call (10 minutes or 10 hours or 10 days, you pick)

8. Wait for their call.

Here's a overview of my 4 minute conversation with Apple so you know what to expect:

They called me about 6 minutes passed the scheduled time, but no big deal. As soon as the lady answered she was American (yay for non-indian support centers), and she was actually super nice and friendly. I quickly stated my problem (just need my password reset because I forgot security questions), and she replied "al right here's our gameplan, I need to simply verify you then we'll reset the password! You'll be good to go in few minutes here!". She said the best way is to answer 1 of the 3 security questions, so we did that and after a few re-tries on a couple questions we were good to go. After that, she asked what email she wants the password reset link to get sent to, and that was it.

So 40 seconds to follow the instructions above, 4 minutes on the phone, and 5 seconds to click the link to reset my password.... 5 minutes top. On top of that, American Support and no menus to fight on the phone like you do with every other company out there (Example: Press 1 for Support, 2 for Billing, 3 for Sales, etc).

And Kudos to Gail for being so pleasant and patient 🙂

What I meant by censored was that it says the reset info is sent to l******@hotmail.com, since my last name starts with I ive got a bunch of email starting with l... And the thing is the length of the * didn't even correspond to the real length of the email lol, after 30 mins of email trying I finally found it, this would have been so much easier if they would give me the last letter as well, or at least match the censored email length with the real length..

You seemed to have missed the point of the entire thread. These people have forgotten their Apple ID password to start with, so they cannot sign on and then select to change their Security Questions. They are asking how to change them after they have forgotten both their password and the answers to the Security Questions which need to be answered in order to reset the password they have forgotten.

Please read the posts and questions before supplying an answer that does not address the issue at hand.

In a nutshell:

If you (generally speaking) can't remember your password or security questions, there is really nothing anyone can do. These are user-created accounts and are not maintained by Apple. Apple will simply help you verify your account in order to send you a password reset link. If you cannot answer your own questions or verify the info that was entered when the account was created, they will not be able to help you. They're is a reason security information is requested when creating the account. Email and internet accounts are maintained by providers. Apple IDs are maintained by the account owner.

People need to stop screaming at Apple because they can't remember their own information. If it's this hard I suggest writing it all down in a place you cannot lose. Back of a picture frame, closet wall, etc. 🙂

Sorry, but that is totally incorrect. If you cannot remember your Security Questions, and you do not have a Rescue email address already set up, you can contact Apple Support to have your Security Questions reset.

People forget their Security Questions all of the time. And Apple will reset them for you if you do not have a Rescue email address already set up, or if you are not getting the reset password email for some reason.

A far easier solution, in my opinion, is two-step verification. No Security Questions, no Rescue email address - just a verification code that is sent to a device. Of course, if you cannot access any of your trusted devices, then you need to use your Recovery Key to get everything back to normal, so you still need to keep that somewhere where you can find it in a dire emergency.

But Apple will pretty much help you get your password issues settled unless you are talking about an Activation Locked device that you were not the original purchaser of. That, they will not help you with. But simply gaining access to your Apple account - sure - help is there if you are able to verify your identity to Apple.

Hi Gail. I actually have the same issue as the OP. When I talked to CS about my issue it was discovered that I only had one security question associated with the Apple ID that I can't remember the email or PW for, so they said there was nothing they could do as far as resetting the password or sending a reset email to an email account of my choice (as opposed to the one I don't remember anymore) even though I correctly answered the security question and provided other details about associated Apple ID's and my birthdate. They said there was nothing that could be done other than somehow figuring out the email associated with the Apple ID from when I originally made the account. This doesn't seem right to me since I answered the security question proving it was my Apple ID (not sure its my fault there is only one question). Any thoughts/suggestions besides calling CS again? Thank you for your time.

What do I do if I live in a country where there is no apple support.

I live in Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, in South East Asia and there's no apple support to call in this country.

I'm experiencing a same issue as above, forgotten apple security answers and no mail received to reset. (I do have a rescue email but I didn't get a reset email)

It's so ridiculous! Like why can't they create an email system. It would be so much more convenient and the people would get their answers in a simpler way. Plus people like me who are younger do not like phoning people, let alone strangers. It would make so much more sense just to email us the answer... All I want is to be able to change my security questions and here I am at 2:40am and I have no way of getting a hold of anyone... Grand.

well. that is what the apple support "specialist" said over the phone. that she couldn't do anything since I don't remember my security questions. My account was hacked and someone changed the security questions. How the **** am I supposed to know the answers for those security questions. Luckily my credit card and address on the account expired since I moved to a new place, and I am glad that no one is going to use my personal information
