Mavericks Dock: Change color

type following into Terminal (0.1 is the time the animation takes):

defaults write com.apple.dock autohide-time-modifier -float 0.1; killall Dock

I have to add...

This new dock colour is AWFUL and not what we should expect from Mac...

The Calender presentation is rubbish...rotten colour and where's my swipe to flip page..

Contacts ...same thing totally sub standard...I feel like I'm back on PC ...whaaaaat!!!!

Please get on this Mac tewam..are you all on glue?????

That's an insteresting app. Testing it right now. So far it seems to mimic the dock in almost all aspects. The only thing it does not seem to do is resize itself dynamicaly such that it stays on screen. After starting quite a few apps as a test, the end went off the edge of the screen. Perhaps there is a setting for that? So many options and settings its almost overwhelming. 🙂

Yes, DragThing was (still is?) a real power tool when it came to keeping apps, documents and folders within close reach. The settings are indeed a bit overwhelming though... quite the opposite from the native dock =)

Today I've lost my dock bundle file but the Devil Dock live his life! I stab it by my steel knife but I can't kill the beast (and now I've just end to reinstall mavericks )

The Drag Thing is definitely a great alternative. With all the bugs that Apple is trying to resolve (GOD there are SO many in IOS7.0.2!!) they aren't going to fix the dock. It's a real shame. I think Steve Jobs has to be rolling over in his grave!

Yes you can configure Drag Thing on the left, bottom or right. You might have to configure it as a drawer. Right click on the dock, choose Dock Options. then click on Drawer (the third icon from the left). Then click the option "Show dock as a Drawer" and choose Right.

Hmm .. doesn't seem to get what I want, which is to have the icons show vertically along the right side of the screen where the ugly Dock is now.

Anyone who could show us a screenshot of this drag thing?

Attached is a screenshot of my current incarnation of an alternative DragThing-dock - a static dock in the lower right hand portion of screen.

Been trying to have the dock pop in&out when mouse is dragged to the left hand portion of the screen, and it works really good. However, it conflicts with the native dock's behaviour. Is there a way to completely turn of the "slide the dock in when you place the mouse on the screen edge-behaviour"? I realise that I can have the dock's position to the right/down (i.e not conflicting with the position of DT) , but I would like to completely turn off the osx-dock.

Does that show up on top of or below the dock? Like if you put your dock on the lower-right, would the native dock cover up your custom one, or the otherway 'round?

When/if I mouse over the right hand portion of screen, the native dock slides in and covers the DT-dock.

Bummer ._. I can't find anything in TinkerTool or the native settings to completely get rid of it.
