I have sent feedback. Hopefully someone listens...

Why no developer complained about this when they work with previews? Someone should have noticed...

Found this (Explanation, not a solution):

As of Mountian Lion, the Dock is rendered by the OS, instead of the OS using a set of image files like in Lion and before, so it can't be edited.
The 2D dock terminal trick only worked via a string item in the Dock executable. As of Mavericks, that string item has been removed. The only way to edit the dock would be to patch the encrypted Dock executable, and inject software to re-render the Dock differently in memory. Not a simple task.

This is awesome.

BUT

It only works with the dock located in the bottom of the screen, for a moment I got really excited.

I don't know why they don't allow the app to modify also the side dock, I'm writing them an email right now.

Unfortunately and I too prefer to keep my dock on the side. I can improve it a little (by turning everything possible to black) but as you said, they should make it work on the sides too. Maybe that's why it's still beta...

I also preferred to have Dock on the right side...have always used it that way since Dock came out and off course hidden...can't stand it at the bottom even with hiding.

I'll just grin and bear it until fixed.

Meh, the bottom is fine, this is mostly about those of us who prefer their dock on the side.

Just expressing my opinion, MEH.

The fact that you can hardly see the indicator lights was driving me nuts, as I like to see what apps are open, even if it doesn't necessarily make that much of a difference.

The process is very easy, and very beneficial in my opinion. Here's some side dock lights I quickly came up with, and already I like them better than the default:

This thread is about people who used their dock on the sides OR at the bottom, AND do not like it. Nobody said it has to include everyone. If you like it the way it is, just keep using it and be happy.
