Exchange servers and Mavericks Mail

It loads it when you open the Mail app, but then no new messages will appear in the Exchange inbox while app is open - fetch new mail and the Activity Window show "Synchronizing Inbox" and jsut sits there and waits.. Close the app and reopen - New Mail appears. Another bug?

I installed the update a few days ago. Looks like Mac Mail and exchanged synced up and was current. I just sent myself a test email from another acount and I'm still waiting for the email to come through the Exchange connection. But the IMAP connection I have been using to connect to my Exchange server in Mail loaded the test email I sent myself immeediately. Still waiting for the test email to come through Exchange...and no activity in a in the Activity window after it apparently synched to the server. Poor showing Apple...please fix ASAP.

After many hours of searching the web and trying work arounds I seem to have fixed my exchange bug in Mail.

My problem was:

No mail in exchange account after installing Mavericks. Mailbox simply didnt build and no new mail was received. The Mavericks update didnt work out for me, so I was becoming more than frustrated.

Solution:

I noticed Mail used another exchange server in accounts then I use on my iOS devices. Seems like the "auto detect" option in accounts chose another server. After overriding auto-detect I manually entered the server used on my iOS devices et voila, it works.

Small issue

Only one small issue left..it looks like new mails are being pushed to Mail with a slight delay. I can live with that for now.

Mavericks' Mail Update for Gmail actually seems to have made the problem worse.😢

Any Sent email to oneself does not register in the Sent folder!

A send to yourself email can be made to appear in the Inbox by restarting Mail or changing and saving the account details. ie any action foecing a sync / read. Apple Mail in Mavericks is broken as far as Exchange is concerned.😠

I'm also experiencing all the issues mentioned in this thread.

I want to first say, just so everyone is clear, Apple Mail does NOT support push mail for Exchange. In fact NO desktop Exchange client (on any version) supports push mail, not even Outlook 2011. Apple Mail uses EWS (Exchange Web Services) which is different from ActiveSync, which iOS and other mobile clients use.

This bug is really just poor software engineering in Apple Mail, and needs to be addressed by Apple immedietly.

my exchange account has stopped working since i did the update, +update to mavericks, have done the every 5 mins, have rebuilt, but no mail appears in the account.. i am in the middle of a big project so am relying on my iphone which is running on old software and working fine. I have been advised that i need to delete my accounts (which i can only do thrrough icloud which will then delete the account from all my devices) and start again. I have also been advised that i risk losing stuff. i bitterly regret udating my software, every thing worked fine, now in the middle of a big project i can only use my iphone to communicate. The staff at apple seem to be clueless as well i even had a support guy on my desktop trying to resolve it, and his solution was delete everything and start again. The first rebuild took 2 days to sync up.

I think you are misunderstanding some things. Your iCloud account has nothing to do with your Exchange account, other than the fact that Apple support has asked you to remove all your Mail accounts. You can never remove your Exchange account "through iCloud". Also, when you delete your account on your Mac it will NOT remove it on your iPhone or iPad. If Apple support is telling you otherwise, they are incorrect.

In addition, you would never lose any of your saved emails from your Exchange account. All the email on your Mail Exchange account is stored on your Exchange server, and synced to your local computer. There is no way to configure it otherwise, for example you could never have an Exchange account only receive new mail in Apple Mail and not store that mail on the Exchange server.

i have removed the account off my mac, then i enable it again but nothing changes, i even turned off energy save so that the activity window could keep going but still no mail the inbox is empty, I cannot delete the account from one computer according to the icloud key chain, can i delete the key chain so that my computer works on its own.

exchange mail problem after update from X.7. to X.9.

But insede my office in my network I receive and can send mails with my exchange account

But outside the office mail does not find server (can be viewed in activity window). In my office there is a delay after pushing the send button. I deleted account, new install, nothing changes.

Same problem on my colleaques Mac. Inside office it works, outside no connection to exchange server.

And outside office, I always have to check SMTP server, even I cloud account, because it changes without

pushing any buttons.

I don't know what's going on.
