Photoshop CS6 UNWORKABLE on Mavericks!

Hello fellow "apples" 🙂

I've a late 2012 Macbook Pro (non retina) with 2,6 GHz i7 8GB Ram and 750HDD

Since i've updated the OS to mavericks yesterday I've been struggling with photoshop CS6, it can work just fine for a minute to completely freeze for a few or even 10 or so seconds ( sometimes even more ) until it will respond. This issue had not existed in Mountain Lion. I've also noticed that the sound voulume bar can be laggy, it jumps a few dots instead of steady increments .

Now i'm an artist not a tech guy, but my guess will be it has something to do with the new memory allocation thing, anyhow it made my life really difficult as i cannot work in PS anymore, and that's a serious stab... Someone should fix that really fast as being a freelance artist and illustrator I've lost a tool that gets the food on my table, if we won't get a fix asap some heads should roll.... :/

Icecoldart, you're not alone. I have Photoshop CS6 on my iMac 24-inch, Early 2009 running Mavericks (OSX 10.9). It seems that it happens after a few 10-20 mins and freezes up the whole computer for 10+ second. It's gotta have something to do with the memory for sure. Hopefully Adobe will send out a update soon.

Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB

Software: OS X 10.9 (13A603)

You might not notice the keyboard freeze if you don't paint with a Wacom tablet... But trust me, it's there! And it's all over the web! Hopefully this update fixes it... Would be nice to hear from someday who experienced that problem and updated to 10.9.1...

Hmmm...

The ball just might be in Wacom's court. Have you contacted them?

I have tryed many things already and nothing seems to solve this problem.

I use Mavericks + Photoshop + Wacom (latest drives and updates) I have no idea who's going to fix the problen and when. I have a new Retina which apparently won't allow going back to Mountain Lion, which worked seamlessly. Please post if you find a real solution or at least a workaround because I'm becoming less productive due to the lack of functionality of the software. I have to click on the interface panels whenever I need to use a keybord shortcut, which amounts to longer work time

It does not matter whether it is Apple, Microsoft, or Google,

it is up to the application developer to insure that their product

is compatible with the operating system it is running on.

Apple for one, makes all their OS updates/upgrades available

to developers well in advance of actual release to the public.

It is up to any developer to verify that their product works

with the update and if not, provide solutions. If a vendor

choses not to or has a system that is so bloated that it

can not respond to changes in a timely manner, that is their

fault.

Just wondering if anyone here has adobe drive 4.0 installed on their computers. It was installed with cs4, and is completely incompatible with mavericks. If you still have it installed, uninstall it - this completely fixed my problems with mavericks and cs6 😉

I can't confirm your solution but I can add some weight to it. I never had CS4 and I never had Adobe Drive. I had CS5 and now CS6. My CS6 has been functioning flawlessly with Mavericks.
