Tags showing up in another user account as aliases

We have two user accounts on my 2007 iMac running Mavericks, one for me and the other for my wife.

I have gone through tagging a lot of my own personal files/folders that are in the "Documents" folder in my account, for example "Money" tag. When my wife signs into her account, and she tags her own files with "Money", she clicks on the tag "Money" in her finder under her account, and all of my own files show up here! Though not accessible, but as aliases - because if you try and open them it'll tell you to fix or delete the aliase due to a "broken link/file".

Is anyone else having this issue? Surely this is a serious issue with privacy. Not that my wife and I hide anything from each other, but this surely is not what a lot of people will be wanting. Please fix this!

PLEASE FIX THIS URGENTLY - SECURITY ISSUE

Under no circumstances (regardless of any permissions!) may tags of one user be seen or modified by another user on the same machine. It wouldn't make sense to share tags.

Reason 1: Other users can see what I am working on. This is a security issue.

Reason 2: Other users can rename my tags, cauing a mess and confusion !

@Apple, Please confirm when and how this is fixed.

I believe this is the same issue described here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5757550 (i am also experiencing this)

As i said on that thread, i reset user account permissions via instructions here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5275515?answerId=22860829022#22860829022 . Then i rebuilt the Spotlight index (this had not worked on its own). After doing both of these things, in that order (reset perms, then rebuild index), the issue went away. Unfortunately now it's back, about a week or so later.

I have left feedback with Apple, for what it's worth. You'd think they would take seriously an issue of privacy.

CORRECTION to my previous post. The problem only came back because i made a mistake. I believe i have resolved this by following these steps, in order:

1. Reset user account permissions per these instructions: http://macs.about.com/od/Troubleshooting/qt/Mac-Troubleshooting-Reset-User-Accou nt-Permissions.htm (couldn't find any docs from Apple on this).

2. Rebuild Spotlight indexing per these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2409 .

This seems to have fixed it completely, for me. The mistake i made was creating a new folder with incorrect permissions - that was what caused the issue to come back. If you are working within Documents (or Desktop, or any of those default folders) then the steps above should work (or did for me at least).

Hope that helps.
