Magic Mouse too Sensitive Under Mavericks

Yes I did, it is bug number 15432995

I changed from a two finger swip to a three finger swipe. I seen to stop the screen from jumping between pages

I have the same problem too since going to Mavericks. It is even very hard to post a reply here and it is very annoying not to mention the mess it has made of my folders because of unwanted moves and deletes. Even Microsoft wasn't this bad.

I have tried the suggestions with the settings and being careful with other fingers but this is just fodder. There is a real issue here that I don't see Apple doing anything about.

rmaffie - that does NOT fix the issue as I had all of those functions turned off and still was getting this issue.

Same here! When I scroll a webpage or a document and then want to click a link or select something, in many cases the scrolling continues a few pixels, before executing the click. So I miss the link or the selection is wrong. This is a system wide behaviour, happening in all applications.

I found out, that the behaviour is reduced, when my (index) finger is resting more "flat" on the mouse. When I use the mouse with my fingertip and increase pressure to perform a click, this leads to scrolling for a few pixels in an arbitrary direction.

This did not happen in Mountain Lion and is very annoying.

I have uncovered an issue that I believe is related to the problems we all are having with the instability of the mouse. I noticed that everytime I CLICKED my screen would scroll down just a smidge. I found that if I keep clicking it will literally just keep scrolling. When clicking I am keeping me hand and fingers completely still (but had two fingers on the mouse) and simply clicked - not moving the mouse of my fingers.

This could be either the cause of our issues or simply another symptom.

Yep, same here. Similar to another person - I am a graphic designer. The mouse goes nuts when I try and save in Adobe Illustratio/Photoshop and generally cannot save anything.

Any updates yet?

No new updates on the ticket, except they asked me for a full system profile and a screencast as well, but that was 15 days ago...

****, I thought it was just me. I feel a little better knowing that I am not the only one experiencing this behavior with my Magic Mouse with Mavericks (misery loves company). Still, I hope Apple does something about this.

I am having the exact same issues since Mavericks. Good to know that I am not alone! I did not figure out in detail when the problem occurs exactly, but it is very unconvenient to work while screens are switching without intention.

Just to chirp in: It is almost impossible to click any links because everything jumps around while you try to click those small things on the screen.

Has anyone also noticed that scrolling also disables itself from time to time, that you have to either tap the mouse to the table or lifting it and putting it back down to make it work again? It is not the batteries since only the scrolling is what stops until you do the forementioned procedure. Movements and clicks still works. It is like the touch sensitive part goes to rest sometimes.

But yes, the problem in mention in this thread has made my hands much more strained because you adapt how you use your mouse to these peculiarities. Mavericks here too.

I have noticed the same as you, that when this behaviour starts you simply have to lift your fingers off the mouse to stop it from scrolling around. Not good.

chiming in, too snestive. will screw around with the settings but it's prob. a waste of time. the second finger resting on the mouse when clicking pointing or scrolling with the first is the culprit but, that's the way we mouse.
