Anyone getting graphics corruption in OSX Mavericks?

I have turned off the Automatic Graphic Card Switch in the Energy Saving Panel and haven’t had much trouble since. But I still had the issue three times in the last week when the computer just turned off, sometimes just when I was to open an folder or started to write something in Pages. Some not something really power consuming.

The problem now is, that the fan is running very often, because the more energy consuming card is heating up the computer. And on battery the energy level is running down fast.

Please also remember to double check the AGS option. Sometimes (either on restart, or user hits restart default) it reverts back to it's default selected option.

One or two people thought the solution didn't help them only to discover the AGS was selected again. They unchecked the box and were fine again.

This is purely a software issue... perhaps driver issue with Mavrick and I hope Apple will put a fix in their next update.

I am checking the AGS option several time a day. Just hat a crash an hour ago.

Bad news: 10.9.1 Graphics issues not repaired!

The issue discussed in this thread continues.

This workaround [ System Preferences > Energy Saver > Automatic Graphics Switching (off) ] is not acceptable to me, since it reduces battery life significantly.

Let's hope that Apple is monitoring this thread and issues a dot-release, rather than having us wait until 10.9.2.

Hi everyone,

As I said in a previous post, I had a myriad of problems with Mavericks on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro and had tried a number of fixes to no avail.

However a complete erase and clean install of Mavericks now has my Mac running as good as ever with no graphics or performance issues.

I also mentioned that I'd repeatedly migrated from one Mac to another over a long time period and wonder whether this might somehow be related to only some of us experiencing these problems.

NOTE: That I backed up everything to an external hard drive first and I'm glad I did as a restore from TimeMachine failed.

I hope for a fix too. I have the same problem on my Mid'10 15" MacBook Pro.

Now that 10.9.1 update is out - has anyone found if the Graphics card auto switching is fixed now for our mid 2010 MB Pros?

Updated this morning to 10.9.1 and just had a Mac-Crash some minutes ago while opening a folder from Dropbox (*?????****)

Also, Apple Developers can submit a bug report to the Apple Developer program, if any of you are developers.

So I have this issue and have been in touch with Apple several times, and they have gotten me to try many things and they are now getting me to go and get a Hardware test done at an Apple Store.

I have confirmed that it isn't just an issue after coming out of Sleep. After apple got me to try and few things, I then did a PRAM reset (one of Apple's suggestions), and the issue happened about 30 minutes later without me putting it to sleep at all during that time.

This is stupid.

I may have found the cause of my problem although early days given some of the fixes described here often only solve the problem for a short period.

When my screen and mouse were moving erractically, I managed to disable Tuxera NTFS. I immediately had control over my computer with only minor screen and mouse isses. After a reboot the MBP was working fine.

When I re-enabled Tuxera, the problem eventually came back. Disabling it again gave me back control.

Emma what did you find out from the apple store? My MBP is having the same issues as everyone else on this thread with the graphics and what not, and I too have a 15" mid 2010 model.

It wasn't Tuxera, latest suspicion is MacFuse.
