iMessage Notifications Delayed

Whenever I receive an iMessage from someone, I don't get notified until about 3-8 minutes later. Messages will say the text was delivered at (for example) 2:38, but I won't be notified about it until 2:44. Any idea why this may be?

I've tried reactivating iMessage and I've tried restarting my phone. I may restore it when I get home tonight, but I'd like to see if there are any other solutions before I do so. Thanks.

Well like I said before....I played with a bunch of different APN with the same result. I was already using the tfdata APN prior to this. I did try this and it does seem better....not perfect but better. I use Gmail so i don't get push anywhow so I would not notice a delay....I fetch every 30 mins.

I really don't know what to say jeffla said above that other carriers are affected also.....I have not seen that....it seems the common link here is tracfone.

Yeah well thats good that its at least working better for you. I definitley believe that it was their update of APN settings, they messed up somehow. Ever since iOS 7.0.3 came out it went wrong on their end and whats weird about it too is that it still effected me on different iOS's. I am kind of glad this is a growing issue because now they will be forced to fix the issue, well at least i hope they do. So is anyone having any issues with any other type of data? Push notifications in general?

Ouch, thats pretty bad. I had the same issue with getting the late preview of the imessage and then opening it and it not being there until i waited about 2 minutes. I am not sure why your friend with Verizon is having that issue, they should definitely go into a store and check that out. But yeah, im not having any issues here on AT&T GoPhone.

Don't think that TFW is going to fix the problem right away. Its going to take a while for them to fix it. Even if iOS 7.1 does come out, all that is is a software change.... The carrier settings have nothing to do with it unless the carrier does something with that specific software. When i was on 6.1.3 and on 7.0 and 7.0.2 I DID NOT get any notification of updating carrier settings, It still said HOME and i still had to input my APN settings. Just ride the storm out, or go with ATT Gophone.

It wont be the answer unless TFW does something about it in combination with 7.0.4 or 7.1, I doubt they will change it knowing that they only changed the apn settings once so far... Did you see how long it took them to realise what APN settings to use???? I have been with them for probably about a year and they FINALLY figured out the right APN settings.... actually they really havent! LOL. But my point is this.... It took them so long to figure APN settings out and they still got it wrong.... Dont count on the next iOS update to solve the problems.

Yeah I had a bunch of time stamp errors as well, mine would go like this. My gf would imessage me at say 2:30 in real life, I wouldn't get notified until 2:40 and there will be a time stamp indicating 2:30. It's only going to get worse, don't waste your time trying to trouble shoot it. I have tried EVERYTHING. Trust me. Go with att gophone people!!! $60 a month unlimited talk text and 2gb of data and way faster data!!
